- Completely Different Title:
- Canada: The Zombies' Ball
- Japan: Devil's Poison Party
- Russia: Infernal Party
- Dawson Casting: Notably and explicitly averted! Director Gregg Bishop went out of his way to cast actual teenagers (or at least within spitting distance) in the main cast, with the exception of Justin Welborn (who plays school bully Kyle) because his audition was just that good.
- Missing Trailer Scene: The trailer opens with Jimmy asking Jennifer and her friend Amelia to prom after he and Lindsay break up and being rejected with the phrases "ew" and "Get Lost, Jimmy". This scene isn't in the final film, where Jimmy just seems crushed and resigned by the breakup.
- It is in one of the deleted scenes though (with the commentary mentioning it was cut precisely to deepen the impact of Jimmy and Lindsay's breakup) which reveals that Jimmy tried to ask Jennifer and her friends one after the other while they were standing right next to each other, and also asked Jennifer last and that Amelia's "ew" was followed by an elaboration that it was more of the last-minute cheesiness of the request that she found insulting rather than the idea of going out with Jimmy.
- Throw It In!: The line "I don't know how to shoot a machete" is based on an incident where the director asked Gwen's actress if she knew how to use a machete and she pantomimed holding a gun.
- What Could Have Been: According to Word of God (and the Man himself) the character of Coach Keel was intended to be played by Henry Rollins, but he was unavailable during the time of filming due to being on tour. His replacement, Mark Oliver, does mimic Rollins' appearance and mannerisms in the role.
