• Creator-Driven Successor: To the Lamune & 40 series, particularly VS Knight Lamune & 40 FIRE since it shares much of the same staff as that show.
• Channel Hop: The movie was broadcast in Latin America on Fox Kids, the show however would air on Locomotion, and both would later be reran on [adult swim]'s Latin American feed in 2004.
• Dueling Dubs: There are 2 English dubs, the 2000 Southeast Asian English dub produced for AXN Asia and the more commonly known ADV Films ^note  now known as Sentai Filmworks dub produced in Houston, Texas from 2004.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: The aforementioned 2000 Southeast Asian English dub that aired on AXN Asia. So far only two episodes of this dub can be found online, and even then only partially in the case of the first episode.
• Sequel First: In Latin America, the movie was dubbed first and broadcast on Fox Kids in 2001, the show would be dubbed the following year.
• The Other Darrin: The Latin American dubs of the movie and the series have completely different casts.
• What Could Have Been: Fox Kids wanted to air the show in Latin America, but the Disney buyout threw a wrench in that. Disney had cut the budget for external purchases and asked for their approval on all possible acquisitions, and Disney understandably considered the show not ideal for the channel.
