- Cross-Dressing Voices: Mechazawa-Beta (and Mechazawa when he is rebooted) is voiced by Mika Kanai, Galaxy Angel's Vanilla H, and some Pokémon as Chikorita and Purin (Jigglypuff). She even reprised Mechazawa-Beta's voice in the live action movie!
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: The manga (12 out of 17 volumes) and the anime's DVDs have been out of print ever since ADV Films went bankrupt. Fortunately, Discotek Media re-licensed the anime in 2016. As of this writing, however, the manga is still in limbo.
- No Export for You: The manga was Cut Short in the U.S. five volumes up to its final, right before ADV Films went down.
- Playing Against Type: The director of the anime version, Hiroaki Sakurai, is mostly known for directing cute series like Di Gi Charat, so directing a series starring a bunch of decidedly un-cute delinquents was a radical departure for him. However both series relies on gags and Di Gi Charat sometimes feature un-cute characters.
- Real-Life Relative: Greg Ayres voices Hokuto’s lackey while his brother Chris Ayres has a few minor roles.
- Role Reprise: Luci Christian and Hilary Haag reprise their roles as Dejiko and Puchiko respectively after previously voicing them in Panyo Panyo Di Gi Charat, though this time they're voicing their original selves.
- Stunt Casting: Megumi Hayashibara is Maeda's Mom, if you can believe it. Made even funnier given that Maeda's Mom never speaks a word, only ever doing an irritated moan.
