  • Acting for Two:
    • Paula Rhodes voices both Skipper and Stacie.
    • In Finland, except for some occasions, Yasmine Yamajako voices both Skipper and Raquelle.
  • Channel Hop: The first two TV specials premiered on Nickelodeon, while the third became a Netflix exclusive.
  • Cross-Regional Voice Acting: Katie Crown, voice of Teresa, recorded her characters' lines from Toronto, Canada, whereas the rest of the actors are from Los Angeles, USA (although she would actually later move to LA).
  • Denial of Digital Distribution: Ever since Mattel removed this series from Barbie's YouTube channel and their website, some episodes can only be watched through unofficial re-uploads.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: People who love this show get called "Dreamhousers".
  • Missing Episodes: For a few months, Grace's first episode, "New Girl in Town", had become marked Unlisted on Barbie's YouTube channel. Her second appearance, "Malibu's Empirical Emporium", didn't even receive an English release until April 2015, four months after Mattel shared then took away some dubbed versions of it.
  • The Other Darrin: The Japanese dub replaced Rieko Takahashi and Hiroki Tochi, who were Barbie and Ken's long-time voice actors since the 1990s, with both Ami Koshimizu and Nobunaga Shimazaki respectively, becoming their official voice actors in Japan onwards.
  • Schedule Slip: Mattel announced early in season six that they would reduce production of new episodes to one every other week. However, sometimes more than two weeks pass without anything new.
  • Screwed by the Network: Advertising for the first Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse TV special didn't begin until about a week before its Nickelodeon premiere.
