Trivia / American Horror Story: 1984

• Hostility on the Set: In a social-media post in 2023, Angelica Ross accused Emma Roberts of creating a hostile workplace, which included repeatedly and deliberately misgendering Ross.
• The Other Darrin: Richard Ramirez is played by Zach Villa here but was played by Anthony Ruivivar in Hotel. Could be a Justified Trope, since Hotel Ramirez is a ghost, and Ramirez died at age 53 in real life whereas 1984 Ramirez faces a much different fate.
• Playing Against Type: Emma Roberts, who normally plays the Alpha Bitch characters on AHS, is playing the Nice Girl this season for the second time on the show (first time was in Freak Show). This would also probably mark a Book Ends return for her to play a Nice Girl character as she started the 2010s decade with playing a Sadistic Serial Killer who faked being a Final Girl in Scream 4 and ended the decade playing an actual brave and down to earth Final Girl here.
• Margaret offhandedly mentions that she turned the Lizzie Bordon House into a bed and breakfast in Fall River, Massachusetts, which is exactly what the real Lizzie Bordon house is today.
• Series Continuity Error: Mr. Jingles' backstory presents several problems. Firstly, he claims sincerely in episode five that his first kill was on the night of his escape in 1984, but we later see him kill his mother Lavinia in a flashback. He gets stabbed in the calf in the same flashback, apparently providing an explanation for his limp, but such an injury would have probably prevented him from serving in the front-line combat role he seems to have held. These contradictions suggest that Jingles' backstory was rewritten to include the Camp Golden Star sequences without the earlier scenes being corrected to include it.
