- "Gensokyo's a goldmine, so treat it like it'll melt tomorrow!" is a reference to "Steve McQueen" by M83, which contains very prophetic lyrics about Brolli's situation...

- Although only spoke of during the inter-reel narration, the scene in which Brolli finds the truth about Yuuka and Arturo after torching Yuuka's garden is/will be a direct homage to Spec Ops The Line: specifically the white phosphorous scene.
