Lenon Jalanskin

An intense Tiefling orphan who inexplicably manifested a form of Dragon magic in his teens and learned to wield it under the tutelage of a steel dragon in human form.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: Despite having the intimidating looks of a Tiefling, Lenon has a tendency to be rather ridiculous and lacking self-awareness in conversation. This belies the fact that he will set you on fire twelve different ways if you mess with him or his friends.
  • Black-and-White Insanity: A downplayed example. Lenon sees very little in-between innocent people and horribly evil fiends and the like, and those who fall in between he deems as either not worth his time or as fitting into one group or the other.
  • Breath Weapon: The way all of his fire-based spells manifest, much to the surprise of most. He can even give someone else a breath weapon.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: He doesn't '’seem'' to have much to offer beyond blasting enemies with flames over and over again, but usually, he knows how to fight well with others to make sure they all come out of it victorious.
  • Determinator: His method of fighting everything. If it looks like he might lose to something, he hits it harder, with more fire and tells everyone else to hit it more too.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: One of the few spells he uses besides his favored Fire spells is the battlefield-controlling Maximilian's Earthen Grasp, though his form of it involves an earthy dragon maw instead of a hand.
  • Fireballs: Was there any doubt? A Dragon Sorcerer who wants to Kill It with Fire.
  • Easily Forgiven: No matter his sense of justice and desire to beat the living snot out of those who are performing acts of evil... Lenon may be the first person to forgive the wrongdoer and be willing to give them a second chance.
  • Funbag Airbag: Lenon had this experience with Nashira when they first met, when the creature attacking her struck him in the gut and sent him careening face-first into Nashira's chest.
  • Good Is Not Soft: In fact, in Lenon's case, good is quite violent when dealing with evil. He has no pity for anything that tries to harm innocents. Comes from being Raised by Wolves, or in his case, raised by a dragon.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Believes that this is the case, and often reassures Nashira that she has as much of this as anyone.
  • Horned Humanoid: Par for the course with Tieflings. One of his is broken off at the base, however, and he doesn't know when it happened.
  • Hot-Blooded: He'll kick your ass. He'll kick your evil fiendish pet's ass. He'll kick anyone's ass if they're doing evil.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Told Nashira upon first meeting her, after she jumped in his arms from excitement, that she weighs a lot and has a big butt. Nevermind that her weight is a result of being an Aasimar; this still isn't what she wanted to hear. He meant for the big butt line to be a compliment, but that didn't please her, either.
  • Kill It with Fire: Lenon's very essence. Understandable, given he has the metallic scales of a gold dragon peppered over his body, and gold dragons could produce fire breath.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Will get up-close-and-personal to be affectionate with Nashira. While she's in her private quarters. Naked. In her bathtub. He simply does not comprehend the line of intimacy that separates friend and lover.
  • No Shirt, Long Jacket: His clothing of choice, though his vest only falls to his waist. One doesn't need much protection from the elements when he's covered in scales and naturally warm.
  • Raised by Wolves: Not so much wolves as a dragon in human form. Though the two of them were mostly isolated from others, she did expose him to society frequently to ensure he did not become a complete oddball. However, he still has No Sense of Personal Space and little to no filter.
  • Stern Teacher: This was Jalanvaloss for Lenon. She was not cold or unfeeling, but she definitely had a keen eye on driving him to be the best he could be, to the point of driving him to collapse from exhaustion during their training.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: A big fan of these when it comes to his enemies. He will inform them of how badly they're going to have their asses beaten by him and his friends, partially hoping to intimidate them and partially hoping it doesn't work at all and he'll get the chance to follow up on his threats.

Nashira Ravinac

An Aasimar in more of a partnership than a pact with a powerful Celestial being who favored her mother. Trying to free said mother from captivity at the hands of her father.

  • Action Fashionista: Will always be the best-dressed person in any given fight that she finds herself in, given she likes to dress nicely and look cute. One of the few aspects she retains from her access to wealth through her family.
  • Adorkable: An attractive, youthful Aasimar woman with big, violet eyes who gets her start adventuring by fangirling over the Wayfarers? Check.
  • Abusive Parents: Nashira's mother was loving, kind, and heroic. Her father? He only took Nashira's mother, chained her thinking he could use her body as a conduit to control the Celestial that she had made a pact with, failed, and decided to turn his attention to his daughter to claim the same from her.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Fantasizes over joining the Wayfarers and what it must take to become one, then Lenon tells her within ten minutes of meeting her that she's in the group as long as she'll come with him.
  • Bargain with Heaven: Her and her mother's patron is a Celestial from the upper planes. Less a bargain for both of them, and more of a mutual arrangement to better the world.
  • Blue Blood: Her father is the current patriarch of an influential house descended of mages. Of course, his lust for power is turning this lineage into a Decadent Court variety, and Nashira wants no part of it, the influence and fortune be damned.
  • Defector from Decadence: Her father has the utmost means to make her life as comfortable as possible in many ways. Unfortunately, this requires him to essentially keep her and her mother both captive in his effort to gain power, which led Nashira to flee.
  • Heroic Lineage: Aasimar do not necessarily produce children who are Aasimar, but Nashira’s mother’s close relationship with the Celestial entity ensured that her daughter is Celestial-touched, as well.
  • Light 'em Up: The vast majority of the powers Nashira can wield thanks to the Celestial are based on light and radiance.
  • Like Mother, Like Daughter: A Celestial Warlock just like her mother and very similar to her in appearance aside from their differing heights and builds.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: How she spent most of her life, given her father’s possessiveness over her and her mother both even before he decided he wouldn’t take no for an answer when it came to controlling them and their powers for his purposes.
  • Magical Girl: Bordering on this, given her appearance, how she came into the possession of her powers, and how she has persevered to try and do some good with them despite the constant obstacles presented by her father.
  • Mystical White Hair: A result of her Aasimar nature, but also representative of her mystical connection to a Celestial from the upper planes and the Eldritch powers this connection provides her.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: As Aasimar go, anyway, but only below average compared to most races. Nonetheless, she is a fairly short woman with a Celestial and all of its powers at her back.
  • The Runaway: With good reason, after her dad essentially chained her mother and made her into a power conduit. Lucy escaped to find allies who could help her stop him and recover her mother.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Has the exact same hair, eyes, and skin color as her mother, along with similar facial features.
  • Supernormal Bindings: Her father chained her mother as a way to claim the power of the Celestial for his own purposes. This didn't work, and the Celestial has joined with Nashira as a way to stop him.
  • Weight Woe: Zig-Zagging Trope. Nashira is only curvy, not remotely overweight, but the combination of her Aasimar nature making her weigh much more than her height and stature would indicate and Lenon's comments about her "big butt" is a source of frustration.
  • White Magician Girl: Feminine, her powers center on healing and protecting herself and others, and she has a caring nature... or at least tries to keep people from killing themselves, most of the time.
