- The Sixth Sense: After Malcom passes on, the screen fades to black.
- Subverted in Film/Shazam, in which the title character sees black after supposedly dropped to his death, but it turns out he was suspended in the air.
- Double subverted in Film/Titanic, in which Rose is in bed and sees a vision of her young self walking up the stairway in Titanic and kissing Jack while everyone else who died on the Titanic claps, but then the screen fades to black.
