Yet another Bay 12 roleplay based on an established universe, Bay12's Sword Art Online RP
is an Alternate Universe RP taking place in the North American server of the titular game, taking place around the same time as the events in canon.
The premise is similar; twelve players jump into Sword Art Online, taking it to be a normal game like any other. They have no idea what it's really like.

This roleplay contains examples of:
- The Big Guy: Bradley is about seven feet tall, and shows it. This is especially pronounced when he casually picks up Shiina and lifts her.
- Counter-Attack: Yuri's Sword Skill is this; specifically, it reflects damage done to Yuri four times while completely removing all damage to her.
- Defend Command: This is built into the game engine. Two variants stand out:
- Shiina's Tower Stance skill takes it up to eleven, allowing her to defend a nearby ally as well as herself.
- Yuri's Offensive Defense skill takes it up to eleven in a different way, allowing her to retaliate with quadruple the damage the enemy gives to her while nullifying it entirely.
- Flash Step: Aurelius' Backstab skill allows him to blink behind an enemy and hit for massive damage.
- Fragile Speedster: Aurelius, Bob and Amberley, with the lowest defenses and the highest speed.
- Gentle Giant: Bradley is the tallest player, but also confirmed to be fairly calm and gentle.
- Glass Cannon: Red, with very low defenses but high strength.
- Irony: Shiina resembles Sachi, a character who prefers to be an Actual Pacifist and is scared of dying. Shiina herself is a frontline tank who literally dives straight into battle.
- Mighty Glacier:
- Shiina; her stats don't allow her to move far, but allow her to hit hard and tank with ease.
- Bradley is a borderline version of this; he's not as tanky as Shiina, but hits harder and has a skill that allows him to move farther.
- Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Shiina, who's capable of hefting Bradley's hammer with ease and has a Sword Skill that reduces damage to her on top of her own already ridiculous defense score.
- Split-Personality Takeover: Red's split personality takes over during combat.
