The Ren & Stimpy Show

Anime & Manga

  • Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt has Mr. Husband and Wife Petter, an animal ghost couple who resemble Stimpy and Ren respectively in appearance. Their personalities match as well, with Husband Petter being friendly and nice, and Wife Petter being a psychopath who murders her husband.
  • Shaman King: Tamao Tamamura's Guardian ghosts, Ponchi and Conchi bear a striking—and wholly intentional—resemblance to Ren and Stimpy. (The author, not surprisingly, is a fan.)

Comic Strips

Live-Action Films

  • The Cable Guy: The episode, "Insomniac Ren/My Shiny Friend" can be seen playing on a TV.
  • Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022): When Chip and Dale are scanned by the bootlegging machine, a computer monitor shows what they'd look like in different animation styles; one of their potential redesigns has them looking like Ren and Stimpy.
  • Clueless shows Ren & Stimpy on TV, too.
  • When the documentary Won't You Be My Neighbor? mentions frantic-paced children's television programming, the "You dare not agree with ME?" scene is shown.

  • Full House: In "Joey's Funny Valentine", Joey imitates Ren and calls Danny "Stimpy", and then Becky mimics Joey's Ren imitation.
  • Key & Peele: In a Wendell sketch, Wendell calls a company to replace a Superman bed he crushed under his own weight. To avoid telling the operator that it's him who needs the bed, he lies that it's for his son and names him "Stimpy" after looking at some Ren & Stimpy plush dolls next to him.
  • Martin: One episode has Pam insult Cole and Martin by calling them "Ren and Stumpy".
  • Saved by the Bell: The College Years: There's an episode where Mike was training to get back in shape to try out for a spot on a football team. One of the motivations he had to get his aggression out was his anger at Screech taping over his only tape of his past football accomplishments with Ren & Stimpy.

The Drill Sergeant shoots it down for being "Too Diseased".
