Yugo and his friends have now a ship, and they're sailing to the archipelago of the Crimson Claws to recover the Dofus of Shinonome and Qilby... and in the meantime the latter has lead Adamai and Grougaloragran through a portal inside the depths of the Zinit, the Eliatrope Arc used to reach the Earth. Showing a surprising mastery of the Eliacube, Qilby shows them the results of centuries of research and reveals his true colors and plan: unwilling to stay any longer in a world that is reluctant to host them, Qilby plans to gather enough Wakfu to refuel the Zinit and restart their journey across the Krosmos... even if such an act means the destruction of the World of Twelve itself.

Tropes:

  • Actually Pretty Funny: After Adamai laughs his ass off while ridiculing Qilby's ridiculous reaction to Grougal's sudden sneak attack, the latter frowns... but then joins the laughter, admitting that, yes, it was quite ridiculous.
  • Admiring the Abomination: Qilby is clearly interested and impressed after hearing about Nox and how he was able of going back in time, though it could have possibly destroyed the world and that he was ready to commit genocide in order to do it. He also admits to Adamai that he finds the Shukrute and its inhabitants to be fascinating.
  • Artificial Limbs: Qilby uses the Eliacube to give himself an arm made of Wakfu.
  • Beam Spam: Being an adult Eliatrope, Qilby can summon several portals simultaneously to shoot his target from several sides at once.
  • Blessed with Suck: As he reveals in this episode, both Qilby and his sister don't lose their memory when they're reborn. An eternity of memories and a lack of stimuli eventually drove Qilby to his current insanity.
  • Brick Joke: As usual, Sadlygrove is seasick, and leaving trails of vomit all over the ship's border, though Black Ink admits he likes the new look. During the credits, it's highly implied he gathered the Iop's vomit in a bucket to use it as paint.
  • Call-Back:
    • Turns out, there was a reason why Yugo instinctively teleported Nox' clock to Mount Zinit of all places.
    • Qilby revealing that the Zinit is powered by the Eliacube causes Adamai to talk about Nox and how he was trying to go back in time with the power of the Eliacube.
    • When Adamai is taken down by Qilby, Yugo can suddenly feel it and falls in depression, knowing that something happened to him.
    • Near the end of the episode, Qilby enters the Shukrute to provide Rushu a way to invade the World of Twelve. We also finally see what happened to the Smisse brothers (Grany has been locked in a birdcage, Remington is force to massage Rushu's back).
  • Clipped-Wing Angel: In anger at Qilby taking down Grougal, Adamai transforms from his Crackler form to a larger, more draconic-looking form that can even breath fire. However, he's not fast enough to catch Qilby, making his greater strength worthless, and he effectively gave Qilby a bigger target to wail on.
  • The Collector: Qilby has in his lab a very large collection of tanks containing specimens of various species he has captured and studied on the Eliatrope homeworld and on the planets visited by the Eliatropes and dragons.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Said word-for-word by Qilby when Adamai claims he'd rather die than help him destroy the world, as Qilby only cares about Ad's opinion so far as it makes it less difficult for him and he'll make the young dragon "help" him one way or another.
  • Foreshadowing: Qilby mentions that he didn't tell the Brotherhood that a Dragon, Phaeris the Mighty, lives in the Crimson Claws and guards his Dofus. He becomes important later on.
  • Game Face: Upon revealing his true colors and using the Eliacube to give himself an arm, Qilby assumes a more demonic form, with chalk-white skin covered in markings, black hair, sharp teeth and the "ears" under his hat straightening up to form horns.
  • Heroic BSoD: Yugo falls into one when he senses that something horrible has befallen his brother.
  • Hidden Disdain Reveal: After revealing his true colors and punching Grougal away, Qilby laughs and admits he was waiting to do that for awhile after all the black dragon's previous attacks on his person that he laughed off.
  • Implied Death Threat: Rushu slips one in as he's asking Qilby to state his business with him.
Rushu: So, little flower, do you have anything to say before I drink your brains through your own tibia?
  • Lack of Empathy: As seen with the above-mentioned phrases, Qilby is such a sociopath he doesn't really care if the amount of Wakfu needed to fuel the Zinit will cause the annihilation of the entire planet. Also upon hearing that Nox was willing to destroy an entire people to go back in time he, being too willing to go to extremes to reach his goals, just jokingly states that you can't make an omelette without breaking a couple of Dofus.
Qilby: [in a manner-of-fact voice] This is not our world, Adamai.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Not delved upon, but Qilby admits that he's no match against Phaeris, so he plans to pit Rushu against him in exchange for a portal to the World of Twelve so that the Shushu can invade.
  • The Nose Knows: Ruel is seen training Junior to smell out gold by making a game out of it.
  • Off with His Head!: Spiritual variation; Qilby defeats Adamai by cutting off his head with his Wakfu scythe... though it seems to cut the "wakfu/spiritual" copy of the head rather than actually physically sever Ad's neck. It's still enough to make Ad drop unconscious on the spot.
  • Oh, Crap!: Qilby has an utterly ridiculous panicked reaction when Grougal takes him by surprise and breathes fire in his face. This is actually laughed at by Adamai.
  • Parrot Exposition: Rushu is so incredulous to hear Qilby's offer that he repeats what he just said in disbelief.
Qilby: Well, actually I've come to talk about that. Invasion, carnage... the works.
    Rushu: "Invasion"? "Carnage"? "The works"?
Qilby ... is there an echo here?
  • Pet the Dog: When Yugo is depressed because he felt something bad occurred, it's Sadlygrove who climbs up on the crow's nest where he went and tries to comfort him.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: With the reveal of the Big Bad Duumvirate, Rushu and Qilby look the part: the former is huge, bombastic, gratuitously chaotic and, in general, a brutish oaf, while the latter is small, smarter, has long-term plans and a complex background behind him. Bonus point for looking like a red demon and a blue demon respectively.
  • The Reveal: The big bad turning point of Season 2: in short, Qilby is actually the villain, and plans to use the Eliacube to drain the Wakfu from the World of Twelve (on a bigger scale than Nox, as he can master it), refuel the Zinit and depart the now dead planet to travel the Krosmos once more and allies with Rushu to reach this goal. He also lied on plenty of things, such as being the king of the Eliatropes.
  • Shout-Out: The scene where Cleome tries to help Dally with his seasickness calls Titanic to mind, complete with suspiciously similar music.
  • Single Tear: When Qilby is briefly reminiscing on the Eliatrope homeworld, he unknowingly sheds a tear and seems genuinely surprised when Adamai points it out and tries to play off it off. It's about the only sign ever given that deep down he does regret everything he's done, and his denial of it very much plays out like an Ignored Epiphany.
  • Sinister Scythe: Qilby manifests a scythe made of Wakfu, which, along with his white hood and pale looks, makes him look like a demonic Grim Reaper.
  • Stupid Evil: Averted by Rushu: although he'd love to crush Qilby like an insect for trespassing his domain, he considers his offer and ultimately accepts to help him in exchange for a portal to the World of Twelve.
  • Super Mode: While fighting Qilby, Adamai unlocks a bigger and stronger dragon-like form. Unfortunately, it's not enough to save him.
  • Teleport Spam: When Qilby gets serious, he starts jumping in and out of portals at random to avoid attacks and wail on Adamai.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Qilby throws a fit and descends in a crying rant when Adamai and Grougal starts to destroy the various tanks containing the alien species Qilby collected in his journey. It doesn't last long, and he simply decides to get serious.
  • Villain Team-Up: By the end of the episode, Rushu and Qilby have joined forces for mutual benefit.
  • Would Be Rude to Say "Genocide": This exchange between Qilby and Adamai when the latter fully realizes the results of the former's plan to gather Wakfu to fuel the Zinit.
Adamai: You're saying that the World of Twelve is going to be annihilated!?
Qilby: Oh, annihilated is such a bad word. We can say it will be... a little ravaged, perhaps?
  • Would Hurt a Child: Qilby has absolutely no qualms in fighting and brutalizing two very young dragons to further his plans, including Grougal who's currently a days-old whelp.
  • You Can't Make an Omelette...: Referenced when Qilby jokingly affirms that you cannot make an omelette without breaking a couple of Dofus.
