Go To

The finale. The class on the S.S Tipton graduates.

Tropes:

  • And the Adventure Continues: The series ends on an open note for Zack and Cody, who are unsure of where they're headed after graduation. One thing's for sure, though: they're taking the hot tub with them.
  • Back for the Finale: Carey, Kurt, and Arwin all return to watch the boys graduate.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Ms. Tutweiller gives one to London when the latter questions if Moseby is really sure about marrying her, given her status as a Crazy Cat Lady.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Zack gets dumped by Maya while Cody is rejected from Yale, and the cast all have to say their goodbyes. However, high school is finally behind them, everyone manages to graduate (even London!), Mr. Moseby is engaged to Ms. Tutweiller, and many of them are sure to keep in touch even though their paths are now separate.
  • Bookends: London's final line is "It's little me, off to Paris!", a reference to her first line from the original series.
  • Brick Joke: Woody finally finds his second pair of underwear, which he mentioned all the way back in the first episode of On Deck.
  • Continuity Nod: Cody and Bailey recall the events of "Family Thais", "Frozen", "Can You Dig It?", and "Trouble in Tokyo" for their graduation speech.
Cody: Fellow graduates, as we say goodbye to high school, and head off to coll—other things, we take with us the memories of all the adventures that we've shared.
Bailey: From riding an elephant in Thailand...
Cody: To snowmobiling the frozen tundra of Antarctica.
Bailey: From discovering ancient Mayan treasures...
Cody: To fighting ninjas in Japan.
  • Curse Cut Short:
Zack: Goodbye seniors, goodbye class. High school, you can kiss my—
Ms. Tutweiller: (shoves him out of the way) O-KAY! Thank you, Zack!
  • Differing Priorities Breakup: Maya breaks up with Zack due to being accepted into the Peace Corps, where she's been assigned to Africa, and not wanting to deal with a Long-Distance Relationship.
  • Graduation for Everyone: Everyone manages to graduate despite the stress of the ship being sold, including London, Zack, and Woody, who are all notoriously poor students. In London's case, it's justified in how Ms. Tutweiller had to actively hunt her down to help her pass her last few classes.
  • Grand Finale: The final episode that brings everything to a close. The S.S. Tipton is dismantled, the class of Seven Seas High graduates, Mr. Moseby proposes to Ms. Tutweiller, and the cast all say their goodbyes.
  • Grew a Spine: Moseby finally stands up to Mr. Tipton and refuses to end the graduation ceremony so the boat can be dismantled.
  • Insert Song: "The Next Chapter of Our Lives", which plays as the class officially graduates and during the Credits Montage.
  • Long-Distance Relationship: Defied or Played Straight with the three main couples. Zack and Maya break up due to the latter feeling the situation was unfair for both of them, Bailey nearly rejects Yale to be with Cody but is convinced to go as long as he visits her there, and Mr. Moseby proposes to Ms. Tutweiller after deciding he didn't want them to be apart.
  • So Proud of You: Carey and Kurt are as proud as can be of their sons for graduating, and Moseby is every bit as proud of his surrogate daughter London.
  • Trash the Set: The S.S. Tipton is sold and dismantled, with Frankie even sawing right through Cody's towel station.
  • Wham Line: "Emma, the more I thought about us being apart, the more I realized: I want us to be together. Forever."
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Zack and Cody reassure each other about Maya and Yale respectively, and decide to just enjoy their graduation for themselves.
