Write and Wrong

Mom tries to convince a newspaper editor that her kids are perfect in order to land a parenting advice column job.

"Write and Wrong"

  • Captain Oblivious: Leni is really out of it when trying to maintain her composure at the restaurant in front of Rita's boss. She cheerfully waves at Jesse and says hi, which brings Jesse's attention to how the Loud children REALLY behave. And even when the rest of them try to pretend to be a different family, Leni still doesn't get it and is confused.
  • Day in the Limelight: For Rita.
  • Even the Dog Is Ashamed: The Loud pets all judgingly stare at Rita when she essentially bribes her children with a buffet to act perfect.
  • Facepalm: Rita, who is hiding from her boss during the restaurant, does this when Leni unintentionally blows her cover.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: While Rita is explaining to Jesse how being a parent to her 11 children is very hard, said children exchange guilty looks over being so stressful to her.
  • Oh, Crap!: The Loud children, besides an oblivious Leni, have this reaction when they see that Jesse, Rita's boss, is in the restaurant with them, and having seen their rambunctious personalities.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: The kids do this when Rita tries to back out of taking them to dinner like she promised.
  • Speaking Like Totally Teen: Lynn Sr. tells Rita that she will "totally slay" at the weekly parenting column, then hastily explains that he had heard it from Leni.
  • Strange Minds Think Alike: Both Rita and Lincoln pretend to be related to Flip to prevent someone from thinking that Rita is related to the kids.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: When the Loud sisters are impressing Rita's new potential boss, most of them are wearing blouses with puffy sleeves, pleated skirts, and Mary Jane shoes. Luna, Lynn Jr, and Lana on the other hand are wearing formal shirts, shorts, and dress shoes much like Lincoln. Whether this is because they didn't want to wear such girly clothing or the store didn't have enough pairs for 10 girls in the family is unknown.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Rita says this word for word when she sees that none other than her own boss is in the restaurant and might view her family for whom they truly are.

Purrfect Gig

When the McBrides go out of town, they hire Luna to catsit, but the job becomes more demanding than she imagined.

"Purrfect Gig"

  • Anywhere but Their Lips: When Sam gives Luna her half of the catsitting money so Luna can afford her VIP pass for the upcoming Mick Swagger concert they're attending that weekend, Luna thanks Sam by giving her a big kiss on the cheek.
  • Babysitting Episode: The episode focuses on Luna watching over the McBride cats, and then her calling Sam for backup when the job proves to be too much to handle by herself.
  • Badly Battered Babysitter: Luna is this until Sam arrives to help her out.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Sam is quite close to Simon and she calls out Luna for jokingly suggesting they leave him outside the McBride house alone so he wouldn't accidentally scare the cats. Later on in the episode, when she accidentally leaves him at the McBride house because she forgot that she brought him with her in the first place, she rushes back and she and Luna to try to get him out of the house before the McBrides catch him.
  • Day in the Limelight: For Luna.
  • Double Take: When Sam leaves the McBride house, she spots Simon still playing video games through the window, but she keeps walking until she realizes that she accidentally left her little brother inside the house.
  • "Down Here!" Shot: When Simon arrives, Luna opens the door to receive him. The camera starts at her height and shows nothing. Then it goes down to reveal a Pint-Sized Kid.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: When Luna jokingly suggests that they leave Simon outside all by himself because the weather's nice enough, Sam calls her out with a Disapproving Look.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Luna ends up calling Sam over to help her with the McBride cats because Sam is good with animals.
  • Good-Times Montage: Sam and Luna have one while they're both working together to take care of the McBride cats.
  • Go-to-Sleep Ending: The episode ends with Luna, Sam, Clyde, his dads, and even Mick Swagger in Luna's mind sleeping from Luna and Sam's lullaby.
  • Hyperventilation Bag: When the McBrides go to the Loud house looking for a catsitter on short-notice, Howard is breathing into a paper bag because he's freaking out over the original catsitter having to cancel at the last minute.
  • Inevitably Broken Rule: The only rule the McBrides have for Luna when she agrees to be their last-minute catsitter is to not have anybody else in their house because Cleopawtra and Nepurrtiti don't like strangers and Luna being there is already anxious enough for them. However, when catsitting proves to be too difficult and overwhelming for Luna to do it by herself, she decides to call Sam for help since she's really good with animals. Then Sam has to bring her little brother Simon with her because he's not old enough to stay at the Sharp house all by himself.
  • Oh, Crap!: Sam when she realizes that she accidentally left her little brother at the McBride house, just as the family is returning home. Then Luna gets one when Sam sends her a warning text, and then she gets another one after the McBrides catch her sneaking Simon out of the house.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: The McBrides are initially displeased when they catch Luna sneaking the Sharps out of the house, since they didn't want Luna to have anybody else over while she was catsitting. However, then Luna explains that she only invited Sam over because the cats were too much to handle by herself and Sam had no choice but to also bring Simon over, too, because she couldn't leave her little brother all by himself at their house. Afterwards, Howard and Harold appreciate Luna's honesty and voice how impressed they are with how well Luna and Sam have taken care of Cleopawtra and Nepurrtiti, so they split the catsitting money between the two of them.
  • Scooby-Dooby Doors: Happens when Luna tries getting Simon out of the house while the McBrides are distracted looking for Luna's "missing" lucky guitar pick.
  • Wedgie: When Luna throws Simon in a storage closet to hide him from the McBrides, he ends up dangling by the back of his pants from the hook on the inside of the door.
