Tails of Woe

When Stella's music box disappears at school, the gang immediately suspects a student urban legend known as the Rat Beast.

"Tails of Woe"

  • Big Shadow, Little Creature: The gang sees the shadow of the Rat Beast, but it soon turns out to be the shadow of a regular rat, albeit a mutated one with two tails and glowing green eyes.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Lincoln uses Zach’s last-minute project (a take-out menu) as a paper airplane to distract Principal Huggins.
  • Dodgy Toupee: Lincoln manages to distract Principal Huggins by knocking his toupee off with a paper airplane.
  • Freudian Slip: Clyde accidentally calls Principal Huggins "Principal Wiggins" when he sees him adjusting his hair piece.
  • Full-Name Ultimatum: When scolding the rat for stealing, Norm refers to him as "Cinnamon Bartholomew".
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: While following the rat beast down to the basement, Rusty tries to leave by saying he has a piano lesson. Zach points out that he doesn't because they're on Thursdays.
  • Last-Minute Project: Zach brings in a take-out menu he found on his door that morning for show-and-tell.
  • Letting Her Hair Down: Cheryl does this before she leaves for her break.
  • Mutagenic Goo: Implied to be what the school's lab rat got into in the science lab. It only gave him an extra tail and glowing green eyes.
  • Nostalgic Musicbox: The episode focuses on the gang trying to find Stella's music box, which was a gift from her grandmother.
  • Secret-Keeper: Lincoln, Clyde, Zach, Liam, Rusty, and Stella become one for Norm and the true identity of the Rat Beast.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: The Rat Beast loves eating corn chips. The ending shows Stella feeding them to him through the air vents.

Last Loud on Earth

After a night of zombie movies, Lincoln and Clyde find an empty Loud house and assume it's a zombie apocalypse.

"Last Loud on Earth"

  • A Storm Is Coming: The reason why Royal Woods was empty is because a major storm blew through town and the townspeople evacuated to the local mall to wait it out.
  • Anger Born of Worry: In the end after Lincoln and Clyde find out there were no zombies, Lynn Sr. angrily tells the two boys how he, Howard, and Harold spent all night searching for them in a storm and yelled their voices out while they were doing so. While the McBride fathers don't say anything during this part, both of them are clearly annoyed about the whole situation now that they know their son and his friend are okay. Rita also makes it clear that sneaking out of the house like that usually results in getting grounded, but fortunately for Lincoln and Clyde she decides The Punishment Is the Crime.
  • Brick Joke: The episode begins with Lincoln and Clyde sneaking into Lisa's bunker so they can secretly watch the Swarm Of The Zombies all-night marathon, with Lincoln knowing that the passcode is just Lisa's birthday. After they reunite with their families, they're forced to confess that they were in Lisa's bunker watching the zombie movie marathon the whole time during the storm, prompting this dialogue.
Lisa: What?! Impossible! How did you crack my passcode?
    Everybody present: It's your birthday.
    Lisa: Dang it.
  • Butt-Monkey: Because Lincoln and Clyde mistook their fathers for zombies, the three of them end up on the receiving end of a lot of the traps that they set up.
  • Coincidental Broadcast: Halfway through the episode, Lincoln and Clyde use a battery-powered radio to see if any civilization still exists, and they find a broadcast from Mayor Davis urging stragglers to come to the mall for shelter. Coincidentally, that was when Lola steals Mayor Davis' microphone to try to send her own message over the radio, letting Lincoln and Clyde know that their families are okay:
Lola: Lincoln! Clyde! She's talking to you! Get your butts down here!
Rita: Lola! Give that back to the mayor!
  • Continuity Nod: To both "The Price of Admission" and "One Flu Over the Loud House" which were conveniently paired together.
    • For "One Flu Over the Loud House", water guns filled with chicken soup are used against "zombies" just like the last time Lincoln faced them.
    • For "The Price of Admission", this isn't the first time Lincoln's secretly watched a scary movie without permission, only to end up scaring himself to death afterward.
  • "Everyone Is Gone" Episode: Lincoln and Clyde find Royal Woods completely deserted and they think they're in a zombie apocalypse, but in reality everyone in Royal Woods was taking shelter at the mall during a storm.
  • Fat Slob: Flip, as per usual. At the end, he's seen chomping on leftover food at the Burpin' Burger while covered in rubbish.
  • Foreshadowing: During the whole episode, the sky is covered with dark-grey clouds. It turns out the reason why Royal Woods was empty, as well as there being no electricity or cell service, was because a major storm went through town and the citizens evacuated to the Royal Woods Mall to wait it out.
  • Hypocritical Humour: Flip is heard over a walkie-talkie saying freebies are not allowed in his store, but he himself is seen eating "free food" at the Burpin' Burger.
  • Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: This isn't the first time Lincoln had watched a horror film without permission; after the storm passes and the two boys find the house empty and the entire city deserted, they suspect it's a zombie apocalypse. They supposedly find themselves under attack by zombies, but they turn out to be their fathers the whole time, who had gone out searching for them.
  • Missing Child: A major storm hits, requiring everyone in town to evacuate, only for the Louds and McBrides to discover their sons missing and possibly lost in the storm.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: When Lincoln and Clyde discover that the "zombies" they’ve been attacking were actually their fathers the whole time, both of them feel pretty horrible about it, especially when their dads reveal injuries that they got as a result of it (such as Howard having a nasty bruise on his arm and Harold having one of his teeth kicked out).
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Lincoln and Clyde deliver one to the zombies, or rather their own fathers, at the end. It made enough noise to alert the female Louds and various other citizens to what was going on.
Rita: Lincoln, Clyde! You’re hurting your fathers!
  • Open Secret: The Louds, the McBrides, Mr. Grouse, and even Mayor Davis all know that the passcode for Lisa's underground bunker is her birthday.
  • The Password Is Always "Swordfish": The passcode to Lisa's underground bunker is her birthday, which pretty much everyone knows.
Lincoln: Lisa may be a genius, but she's terrible at passcodes.
  • The Punishment Is the Crime: Rita ultimately decides Lincoln and Clyde's punishment for sneaking out of the house to secretly watch the Swarm of the Zombies movie marathon all night long was the supposed "apocalypse" they were in, much to Lynn Sr.'s displeasure since he, Howard, and Harold had to search through a storm and go through a lot of physical comedy as a result of their antics:
Lynn Sr.: They've been through enough?! I've got melted cheese everywhere!
  • Real After All: Subverted; When the dads say the Burpin Burger was the only place they didn’t visit during their search for Lincoln and Clyde, this scares everybody into thinking there might have actually been a zombie, but it turns out to have been only Flip.
  • Screw the Rules, It's the Apocalypse!: When the boys walk by the Burpin Burger, Clyde asks Lincoln if they can stop there so he can pee:
Clyde: I know it's for paying customers, but I really have to go.
Lincoln: It's the apocalypse, Clyde! I think that rule is out the window.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: It turns out that the zombie apocalypse was actually a storm evacuation, and the "zombies" Lincoln and Clyde encountered were actually their fathers, who had gone out looking for them and whose voices were hoarse from screaming their sons' names all night.
  • The Unreveal: The password to Lisa's underground bunker is revealed to be her birthday, but the specific date is not revealed.
  • Wham Line: One that reveals that there were no zombies after all after Lincoln and Clyde realize, to their horror, they were accidentally attacking their dads in front of the mall:
Lincoln: We thought you were zombies! We've been fighting them all day!
Lynn Sr.: [voice hoarse] No, you haven't! You've been fighting us!
