The Warden takes the prisoners on a vacation. Unfortunately, a massive storms splits the staff, stranding Warden, Jared, and The Doctor with the prisoners.

"Vacation" contains examples of:

  • Bolivian Army Cliffhanger: The Warden, staff, and inmates are left helpless against an army of Mistress-themed troopers with guns, plus the Mistress and her staff.
  • Brick Joke: One is used within the opening sequence. The first "Outer World" that Jailbot and Jacknife pass through features a time traveler that teleports away in his machine. The final "Outer World" is all abstract, neon, and otherworldly, and the time traveler has wound up appearing there but having mutated into an alien.
  • Censor Box: One covers up Alice's junk after Jared strips her loincloth off. As there was nothing actually drawn under the box (which was used just for the gag and remains there on the DVD), we only have the inmates and Zamzazons' horrified expressions to go by.
  • Chekhov's Boomerang: The Ultraprison references eventually build to something rather ominous.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Fang winds up being rather handy in the end.
  • Continuity Nod: The Jimmy Jazz band return for a cameo on the Jailboat. Then there's the matter of Ultraprison.
    • Alice is still obsessed with Sweet Cheeks, as we see from the guy being caged up by her bed and looking all terrified.
    • The two bored inmates from "Combaticus" are shown on the Jailboat, and the Warden dresses them in his "Jailboat" shirts and memorabilia (although said memorabilia disappears just as quickly).
    • The pale bald inmate that Ash was reading to in "Mr. Grumpy-Pants" also gets a quick cameo on the Jailboat.
    • The Twins' otherworldly heritage gets a brief nod in their short silent cameo, with them sleeping in a rather spaceship-looking room and their beds being rather atypical.
  • Cliffhanger: A big one, meant as a hook for season 3 in the chance that the show would get renewed. It succeeded.
  • Creator Cameo: A bunch of the inmates that die on the Jailboat are modeled after various animators and other members of the production crew, according to the commentaries. The three inmates who slide on the fish and get impaled to death were based off of the season 2 animators James Sugrue (aka "Jim Grue"), Matt Peters, and Joe Cappabianca.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The statue of the Zamzazons' goddess is a snake woman- with six breasts.
  • Funny Background Event: Jean and Paul can be seen making out in Jailboat's swimming pool as the Warden appears in his captain's uniform.
  • Hoist By Their Own Petard: The Zamzazons wind up eaten and/or mutilated by their very patron monster that they intended to kill the Superjail residents with. All thanks to a distraction by Alice.
  • Lady Land: The island society of the Zamzazons.
  • Monster Is a Mommy: The Giant Krynok, patron monster of the Zamzazons, is revealed to be Fang's mother.
  • Only One Female Mold: The Zamzazons. Alice would be the odd one out among them.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Jared's eyes suddenly gain red irises, as a sign that he's very pissed off and about to expose and humiliate Alice to the Zamzazons.
  • Sequel Hook: So the Warden and company return two months later, only to find that Superjail has been taken over by the Ultraprison staff. Who have an army of Mistress-like troopers pointing guns at everyone.
  • Stock Footage: As mentioned above, the group of disgusted inmates are used twice throughout the temple sequence.
    • When the Giant Krynok rises, Jean and Paul's character models are pasted twice into the scene. What makes it real egregious is that the second "Jean and Paul" pair is right beside the other.
  • The Stinger: Jailbot wakes up in a cave on a REAL "Cigarette Island", and rushes off, seemingly to rescue the Warden. However, it's then subverted in "Stingstress" when we see he arrived back at the jail too late to do anything useful.
  • Unsettling Gender-Reveal: The inmates and everyone else wind up seeing Alice's genitals after Jared exposes her to the Zamzazons. The inmates, particularly GARY, look horrified. Although Alice insists that she's taking hormones and will eventually get surgery, the Zamzazons consider her a "man-demon" and order her to die.
  • Wham Line: "Don't you mean MY Ultraprison?"
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Due to a scene being removed, Lord Stingray suddenly vanishes towards the end. There's also the wondering of just what happened with the Twins back at the jail. The first question is revisited in "Stingstress", but the Twins don't reappear, leading to wondering of what happened to them during the "Ultrajail" reign.
    • Jacknife is last seen with the inmates after Alice gets exposed, but also vanishes. Knowing him though, he probably found some way back to the outside world (as usual).
