Mario and Luigi invent Christmas for the cave people, but the Koopas steal their presents.
Tropes:
- Accidental Kidnapping: Oogtar looks in Mario's sack of presents and hides in it when King Koopa comes to take it away.
- Bond Villain Stupidity: King Koopa suspending Oogtar over a hungry dinosaur, then lighting a candle underneath the vine keeping Oogtar over it is innocent enough, but then he leaves.
- Boom in the Hand: King Koopa and Oogtar fight over a present which turns out to be a Bob-omb. Oogtar tosses it back to Koopa who, instead of disposing it, yells at it not to explode. It does.
- Calling the Old Man Out: Oogtar does this to King Koopa when he discovers he's giving Bob-ombs to the Koopa Kids as Cave Christmas presents.Oogtar: Glad you not my dad.
- Christmas Episode: The Mario Bros. and Princess Toadstool introduce Christmas to Dome City as Cave Christmas since the episode takes place in August.

- Everyone Has Standards: Oogtar is disgusted with Koopa giving Bully a Bob-omb for Cave Christmas.
- Explosive Stupidity: Koopa telling a lit Bob-omb not to explode.
- Fat and Proud: Even while dressed as Santa and stuck between window bars, Mario insists that he won't go on a diet on Yoshi's suggestion.
- Help, I'm Stuck!: Mario tries to sneak into Neon Castle but gets stuck in between the window bars. Yoshi tries to shove him through and finally does when he sees a Boo Buddy.
- How the Character Stole Christmas: Attempted by King Koopa, albeit with no "learning the true meaning of Christmas" part.
- It's All About Me: Oogtar is drawn into Cave Christmas because it means Santa Claus will give him presents.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Oogtar may be a Bratty Half-Pint, but even he knows how dangerous it is to give explosives to kids as Cave Christmas presents.
- Lying Finger Cross: Oogtar does this when he promises to be good. Mario dressed as Santa Claus catches on, and Oogtar uncrosses them.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Koopa is shocked when he realizes that the Bob-omb present Oogtar opened is going to explode.
- Oogtar when Koopa suspends him over a vine and is about to feed him to a dinosaur.
- Plot Hole: What that Bob-omb was doing among the stolen presents Mario meant for the cave people is anyone's guess.
- Present Peeking: Oogtar does this on Cave Christmas Eve. Even Luigi catching him in the act doesn't stop him.
- Saving Christmas: Mario has to do this after King Koopa steals the cave kids' presents.
- Sdrawkcab Name: Koopa taunts Oogtar by saying that his name is "Rat Goo" spelled backwards.
- Sure, Let's Go with That: Oogtar doesn't realize that Santa is Mario in disguise after he is saved. Mario plays along.
- Tear-Apart Tug-of-War: Yoshi and Oogtar have a tug-of-war over a barbecue mammoth rib as they argue over who it belongs to. When Mario tries to intervene, telling them there's plenty for both of them, Yoshi and Oogtar rip the rib in half, causing the sauce from it to splash Mario.
- Unwilling Suspension: Koopa ties Oogtar with vines and lowers him over a hungry dinosaur.
- You Mean X Mas: Discussed. Luigi tells Mario that they can't have Christmas in August, so Mario suggests introducing "Cave Christmas" to Dome City which they could celebrate at any time of the year.
