Plankton's giant Chum Bucket glove runs wild in town, but SpongeBob has a handy friend to help them out.
"Handemonium" contains examples of:
- A Day in the Limelight:
- The Chum Bucket glove gets a major role as the main antagonist of the episode.
- Hans, the realistic hand that dresses SpongeBob in the intro, ends up integral to the story.
- Brick Joke: During the fight, Plankton distracts the Chum Bucket glove by calling its grandma a combat boot. At the end of the episode, Plankton replaces the glove with a combat boot.
- Continuity Nod: On the side of Larry's gym, there is graffiti stating, "Anchor Arms are for wimps" and "Dirty Dan wuz here", which references the episodes "MuscleBob BuffPants" and "Survival of the Idiots".

- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Mr. Krabs tells SpongeBob that he gets a five minute break every twenty years. The show was celebrating its twentieth anniversary when this episode aired.
- Medium Blending: The disco ball that SpongeBob creates for the break room is made from a live-action crumbled up aluminum foil.
- Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: The title is identical to the film Breakin.
- Shout-Out: While playing the microwave like a guitar, SpongeBob sticks his tongue out like Gene Simmons in KISS.
