The town saves a species from extinction, but finds that they are an extremely annoying race that only Cartman can stand.
"Jakovasaurs" contains the following examples:
- An Aesop: The episode had the message explaining that sometimes saving a species from extinction can do more harm than good and can be just as harmful to society driving species to extinction.
- Artistic License – Biology: The Jakovasaurs couldn't possibly have evolved without a natural way to mate.
- Bestiality Is Depraved: Mr. Garrison apparently had sex with a pigeon that he was supposed to care for. When the incident is brought up, he tries to defend himself by claiming the pigeon was "a total slut" but nobody buys it.
- Bizarre Sexual Dimorphism: Non-physical example. Male Jakovasaurs can speak English, whilst females only speak gibberish.
- Cartoon Creature: The titular Jakovasaurs, which are some kind of strange anthropomorphic duck-like creatures.
- Endangered Pest: The town saves the eponymous species from extinction; however, the people of the town find that they are an extremely annoying race that only Eric Cartman can stand.
- Game Show Goofballs: Mayor McDaniels has Jakovasaur play against Officer Barbrady in a rigged game show to trick the former and his family into being sent away to France. Things do not go quite as planned, as Jakov is too dumb to play the game, while Barbrady is too dumb to let him win. After a lot of frustration from the situation, McDaniels just decides to declare Jakov to be the winner anyway.
- Hate Sink: While not mean, the Jakovasaurs are idiots who are meant to annoy the other characters as much as they do the audience.
- "I Hate" Song: Guess who sings it.I hate you guys

I hate him the most - Laugh Track: Parodied and lampshaded when Cartman says "What's that sound? Who's laughing?"
- No Accounting for Taste: Cartman is the only one to find the Jakovasaurs funny. Him, and French people.
- No Indoor Voice: Apparently a species trait for Jakovasaurs.
- Noisy Duck: The Jakovasaurs are duck-like and are very loud and annoying.
- One-Shot Character: Outside of one later video game where Jakovasaurs are enemies, the Jakovasaurs only appeared in this episode and are unlikely to return since they live in France.
- Only One Finds It Fun: Cartman and the French are the only ones who like the Jakovasaurs.
- Punny Name: "Jakovasaur" is pronounced "jackoffasaur."
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The Department of Interior Guys, when they get sick of the Jakovasaurs.
- Shout-Out: The Jakovasaurs species is one for Jar Jar Binks due to fan backlash and Trey Parker and Matt Stone realizing that people would hate him from seeing a trailer.
- Springtime for Hitler: The plan to get rid of the Jakovasaurs is to have them win a France vacation on a game show and have the opponent (Officer Barbrady) deliberately lose. The problem? Jakov is too dumb to win a rigged game, while Officer Barbrady is too dumb to let him win. After a while, the Mayor just declares the game over and says Jakov won anyway.
- Studio Audience: Parodied with the Jakovasaurs' sitcom.
- Surprise Multiple Birth: When Joum Joum is finally impregnated, the whole town shows up for the birth of her child. She gives birth to a baby... and then another... and another... suffice it to say she has loads of kids.
- Sympathy for the Devil: Kyle and Stan feel bad for Cartman at the end upon realizing how much he actually cared about them, the other townspeople also tried telling him what they learned from the whole experience.
- Take That!:
- Trying to think of a place for the Jakovasaurs to go, the Mayor refers to them as big, loud, annoying, and stupid. The townspeople then agree on Memphis.
- At the end, the French people say Jakov reminds them of Jerry Lewis.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Kenny's mauled by a bear when disguised as a deer in a plot to distract Cartman long enough for the town to get rid of the Jakovasaurs.
