Welcome to the future!

A bored Sparks wishes for something to make the day more interesting, and gets his wish when a deliveryman accidentally delivers an asteroid smasher that doubles as a high definition television to Sealab instead of Spacelab. Sparks promptly claims it for themselves (signing for the package as Space Stormy) and takes it to the rec room.

Everyone is quite impressed with the new tv and the sharp graphics and spend all day surfing. Meanwhile, Space Quinn is trying to figure out where the ASHDTV went, because they need it to destroy an asteroid that's hurtling toward Earth.

Back at Sealab, everyone is still impressed by the new tv and Shanks offers to make everyone wapcorn, popcorn with chocolate malt balls mixed in. While looking for the malt balls, Space Quinn contacts him asking if they have the ASHDTV, but between Shanks not hearing correctly and a delay in the transmittion, Shanks walks away without answering Space Quinn.

Sealab now knows of the asteroid threat thanks to a breaking news brief, but are too busy arguing with Gay Guy Lance about the offensive show they're watching and the tacky decor around the tv, before Stormy accidentally finds a porno with Debbie in it. Debbie is just impressed that she's on tv and more offended that the guys don't think her breasts are real.

Meanwhile, Quinn is talking to Space Quinn, mainly to screw with him before telling him they have the ASHDTV. In the process he meets Space Debbie and Space Stormy, and watches as they both die after exposing themselves in a vacuum. He's more horrified by the fact that Space Stormy has breasts than by their deaths.

Shanks finally brings back the wapcorn and promptly spills it. Space Quinn manages to tune in and tries to talk to Sealab to get them to destroy the asteroid, but Stormy finds him boring and changes the channel. Marco attempts to find some wapcorn to eat, and accidentally eats a cat turd. Space Quinn tunes back in to yell at Sealab because Earth is now doomed because they were too lazy. They get one more minute of television in before the asteroid destroys Earth. Space Quinn laments that everyone is dead. Space Stormy asserts that he's still alive before Space Quinn kills him with a laser, exposes his own breasts, and fondles them before a safe falls on his head dropped by a crudely drawn Brak.

The Stinger: Fake [adult swim] bumps done by 70-30.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Brick Joke: Turns out there is a Black Stormy.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Space Debbie dies of exposure to the air vacuum after flashing her breasts, Space Quinn laments that he "made plans to hit that."
  • Earth-Shattering Kaboom: The fate of the planet.
  • Gag Penis: Quinn makes jokes about mishearing "giant penis" instead of "giant asteroid".
Space Quinn: "How could a giant PENIS be hurtling towards Earth?!"
  • Not Me This Time: When Space Quinn finds out that the ASHDTV was apparently signed for by a Space Stormy, Space Stormy (truthfully) says he never got it and swears he didn't sign for it. Space Quinn is skeptical and makes it plain that signing for something he didn't even get is entirely within Space Stormy's normal levels of stupidity.
Space Stormy: Why would I sign for something I didn't even get?
Space Quinn: Why do you do 90% of the stupid f*cked up sh*t you do!?
  • Queer People Are Funny: Played for Laughs:
Gay pirate: Gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay gay!
    audience and crew laugh
Gay Guy Lance: Can somebody tell me how that's funny?
    Sparks: He's gay.
Shanks: Hey, is that gay fellow doing stuff?
  • Race Lift: Space Debbie and Space Stormy are black while Space Quinn is Ambiguously Brown.
  • Skewed Priorities: Big time. Who cares about smashing an asteroid capable of an Earth-Shattering Kaboom when you can enjoy a shiny new HDTV?
  • Too Dumb to Live: The Sealab crew big time in this episode, though more like Too Dumb to save the entire planet including themselves.
  • Your Head A-Splode: The fate of Space Debbie and Space Stormy after they try to flash their breasts to the Sealab crew, forgetting that they're in a vacuum.
