(CWi Episode: "Heartfelt Melody")

Ami ends up enamored with a captivating musical piece made by a young composer. This inspires her to create lyrics for the music and hopes to share her work with the composer. But soon she comes to regret it after questioning if she has the same level of passion as the composer and his partner.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Bad Boss: Zirconia resorts to using magical energy blasts on the Amazoness Quartet to get them to do their job.
  • Big "NO!": Ami says this as the Kero Kero Girl consumes Toshiyuki's dream.
  • The Cameo: Naru and Umino appear to have a date with each other while Ami shows her friends her unofficial-official lyrics.
  • Cold Open: The first scene shows Ami losing herself as she listens to a beautiful melody. She then wakes up to her friends hounding her to talk about what she wrote in her notebook.
  • Disappeared Dad: Played With. Ami's dad isn't involved in the family but he still sends his daughter natural portraits every now and then which she enjoys.
  • Extranormal Prison: Using her orb magic, VesVes traps the Sailor Guardians in the studio's computer to keep them from interfering.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: While Ami thinks about her letter to T.N., two photos can be seen of her in her younger years with what are presumably her parents.
  • Frog Men: Or woman in this case. VesVes summons Kero Kero Girl who resembles a giant frog to eat Toshiyuki's Dream Mirror.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Ami has feelings of self-doubt as she worries about making lyrics for the music when she isn't a dedicated performer like Toshiyuki.
  • Imagine Spot: In the beginning, Ami imagines herself covered in light while leaves flutter all around her.
  • It Was with You All Along: Ami gets a visit from her Guardian self who assures her that she's always had the power and creativity to save everyone and make her dreams come true.
  • The Internet: Ami explains to her friends how she's been invested in online networking which is how she found the original piece of music that captivated her soul.
  • Killer Rabbit: Kero Kero Girl starts out as an adorable pollywog but soon charges at the Guardians to attack.
  • New Superpower: After regaining the will to accept herself and her feelings, Mercury conjures Mercury Aqua Rhapsody which involves creating a harp that blasts bursts of water.
  • Not Helping Your Case: While Ami has a mental crisis over coming up with lyrics that can't compare to Toshiyuki and Kyoko's dreams, Usagi and Chibi-usa explain to them about her own dreams of being a doctor while being a dedicated student. This only makes her feel worse as she believes she isn't in the same field as the composers.
  • No, You: After VesVes openly questions if the Sailor Guardians feel embarrassed about saying corny stuff, Chibi Moon declares that she should be the one who's embarrassed.
  • Running Away to Cry: Ami excuses herself from Toshiyuki and Kyoko's music studio so she can cry about how her lyrics aren't good enough for their work.
  • Skewed Priorities: All the girls would rather talk about what Ami was writing about instead of talking about the new enemy like the cats wanted.
  • Speak in Unison: The Inner girls plus Chibi-usa do this after they overhear from Toshiyuki how Ami said so much about them.
  • Worth It: Even though he and his partner Kyoko have to juggle giving piano lessons and performing at night clubs, Toshiyuki declares that it's worth it as long as they carry out their dream of creating beautiful music for the world to enjoy.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: PallaPalla tries to use her magic on the blurry photo to see if it'll give a clear image. To everyone's dismay, all it does is play music.
