Upon their arrival to the desolated ruins that is the future, the Guardians are greeted by the future King Endymion who explains the origins of Crystal Tokyo and the Black Moon Clan. And soon afterwards, Prince Demande makes his move to kidnap Usagi and force her to be his lover.

- Alien Invasion: Without warning, the Black Moon Clan launched a full scale attack on Crystal Tokyo by using tremendous amounts of dark energy to neutralize it followed by a wave of UFOs to continue the carnage.
- Apocalypse How: King Endymion starts his story with how a great calamity befell upon the Earth that trapped it in frozen sleep for centuries.
- Bad Future: After the devastating attacks from the Black Moon Clan, Crystal Tokyo has become a hollow Ghost City trapped in cold silence. Neo Queen Serenity remains comatose in a crystal bed while her Guardians protect what's left of the city with their life energy.
- Big Damn Heroes: Tuxedo Mask manages to reach Demande's base and throws a rose at him which breaks his control and stop him from going through with his Forceful Kiss.
- Birds of a Feather: Esmeraude brings up this trope after Saphir expresses a shared hatred towards Sailor Moon.
- Bond Villain Stupidity: When Prince Demande kidnaps Usagi, instead of immediately taking the Silver Crystal, he leaves it next to her bed to show her that it won't work. This means Usagi is able to take it with her when Tuxedo Mask rescues her.
- Clingy Jealous Girl: Esmeraude develops feelings of hatred towards Sailor Moon for stealing the heart of her precious prince.
- Crystal Prison: Before their enemies could fatally wound Neo Queen Serenity, her Guardians used their powers to encase her in crystal to keep her safe. As of now, she still resides in the crystal in deep slumber.
- Crystal Spires and Togas: In it's prime, Crystal Tokyo was a glorious city filled with large crystal buildings brimming with life and hope.
- Declaration of Protection: Mamoru promises his future self that he'll defend Chibiusa with his life.
- Evil Plan: King Endymion explains that the Black Moon Clan hopes to destroy the Crystal Palace so they could steal the Silver Crystal and rewrite the world in their manner. When that wasn't possible, they decided to target Tokyo's past so the future city would be destroyed.
- Forced Sleep: Because of the intense dark energy, every living being on Earth has had to remain in deep sleep, including Serenity and Endymion.
- Forceful Kiss: Prince Demande comes dangerously close to forcing a kiss from Usagi if it wasn't for Tuxedo Mask's intervention.
- Ghost City: Crystal Tokyo is noticeably devoid of any signs of life.
- Go-Go Enslavement: Downplayed. Usagi awakens in one Prince Demande's bases and is shocked to find herself wearing a modest white dress, similar (but not quite) to the one she wears as Neo Queen Serenity.
- Hologram: King Endymion presents himself in hologram form as his physical body cannot handle the distressing conditions of the outside world.
- Internal Reveal:
- Mamoru learns that his future self was behind the nightmares that forced him to dump Usagi like rotten tomatoes.
- The Inner Guardians learn that they will be the Guardians of the future who serve as the last line of defense.
- Usagi discovers that she will be Neo Queen Serenity in the future, with Mamoru as King Endymion.
- Everyone reacts in surprise over Chibi-usa being the future daughter of Usagi and Mamoru.
- Luminescent Blush: Sailor Moon and Tuxedo turn redder then cherry pie after learning about the implications of Chibi-usa being their daughter.
- Mood Whiplash: The Sailor Guardians express soft surprise when they learn about Chibi-usa's true parents. Mars has this to say:Sailor Mars: SO THEN WHAT YEAR, MONTH AND DAY DID THAT HAPPEN EXACTLY?!
- My Future Self and Me: Tuxedo Mask's future self appears before the heroes and serves as their tour guide during their stay in the future.
- Power Nullifier: To Usagi's horror, she's unable to call on the Silver Crystal's power while trapped in Demande's base which is filled with the Malefic Black Crystal's Dark Energy.
- The Power of Love: King Endymion uses the notion that Usagi and Mamoru must strengthen their love for one another to help them overcome the trials of their future enemies.
- Redemption Rejection: The past evils that Neo Queen Serenity and King Endymion once faced chose to leave Earth and take their chances in the void of space rather then be purified by the Silver Crystal.
- Replacement Goldfish: Played with. Prince Demande becomes obsessed with Usagi because she resembles the future Queen Serenity and hopes to claim her for himself. That said, he is fully aware that they're the same person.
- The Reveal: King Endymion is revealed to be the reason why Mamoru was having terrible nightmares to force him to break up with Usagi. Later he would explain the rise of Neo Queen Serenity and her history battling against the Black Moon Clan.
- Rogue Planet: The scoundrels who fled Earth made a new home for themselves on the tenth planet of the Solar System called Nemesis. Endymion would explain that no one, from either past or future, would have been able to identify the planet because of it's inconsistent orbit.
- Saving the World: The Earth remained trapped in a frozen state for hundreds of years until it was revived by the power of Neo Queen Serenity.
- Secret Test of Character: Endymion explains that the reason he sent Usagi and Mamoru the wedding nightmares was to test their love and ensure that it would endure the upcoming tribulations that come with facing the Black Moon Clan.
- Stalker with a Crush: Prince Demande is deeply enamored with Neo Queen Serenity and seeks to make her his possession by any means necessary. Though he is willing to settle for her past counterpart.
- Third Eye: Prince Demande reveals a third eye which he uses to hypnotize Sailor Moon and to weaken the heroes after breaking into the palace.
- This Cannot Be!: Usagi has a bit of difficulty accepting that she will be Neo Queen Serenity in the future.
- Took a Level in Badass: The criminals who fled Earth and landed on Nemesis were able to develop strange but extraordinary powers making them and their descendants, the current Black Moon Clan, into powerful threats.
- Undressing the Unconscious: When Prince Demande kidnaps Usagi, she wakes up wearing a version of Neo Queen Serenity's dress.
- Urban Ruins: Crystal Tokyo's current state is one of complete ruins with ice covering everything, buildings torn apart and not a living soul to be found.
- Villainous Rescue: Implied. A burst of dark wind manages to distract Prince Demande long enough to allow Tuxedo Mask escape with Usagi. With Esmeraude watching them leave along with her jealousy towards the Usagi for capturing her prince's heart, it's all but stated that she was the one responsible for their escape.
- Wham Episode: The heroes learn everything about the origins of the Black Moon Clan, who Chibi-usa's parents are, and Usagi and Mamoru's destinies as the future rulers of Earth.
- Who Dares?: Tuxedo Mask furiously asks why Demande would dare to use a cowardly method of hypnosis to force himself onto an innocent woman.
- World-Healing Wave: In the future, the Silver Crystal was able to save the world from it's cold state and return it to pristine glory.
