Chibi-usa succeeds in opening up a Space-Time portal to take her and the Sailor Team to the future. But they'll face several obstacles before can they reach their final destination; from Sailor Pluto's judgement to Esmeraude's interference.
Tropes in this episode include:
- All Your Powers Combined: The Sailor Guardians recreate Sailor Planet Attack to destroy Ryuax.
- The Aloner: As the Guardian of Time and Space, Pluto is assigned to watch over the Door without ever leaving her post leading to her having to stay in solitude for her entire existence.
- Attack Reflector: By changing the polarity of Space and Time, Ryuax is able to send the Guardians' special moves right back at them.
- Bait-and-Switch: After Chibi-usa explains her reasons for bringing the heroes through time, Sailor Pluto orders her to stop while raising her hand. As the little girl prepares to be stricken as punishment, Pluto instead pats her head and congratulates her for doing the right thing.
- Bittersweet Ending: The heroes succeed in reaching the future but are horrified by the grim atmosphere that is Crystal Tokyo.
- Brats with Slingshots: Chibi-usa turns Luna-P into a slingshot to fight back against the Ryuax. It's a noble effort if her ammunition was actually useful.
- Cliffhanger: The last scene has the heroes reacting in horror over the desolate world of ruins that is Crystal Tokyo.
- Cover Identity Anomaly: Ryuax disguises herself as Neo Queen Serenity to lure Chibi-usa. But Chibi-usa is able to tell that she isn't her true mother, especially after she uses the "Rabbit" moniker.
- Evil Chancellor: Saphir and Esmeraude comment on how Wiseman has played a recurring role as Demande's advisor while filling his head with ideas on obtaining the Silver Crystal to support their cause. Saphir also points out how Wiseman never revealed what his true intentions are.
- Foreshadowing:
- The Silver Crystal begins to radiate light as it makes contact with what the Guardians hypothesize is the Silver Crystal of the future, so they use it to escape the dark void by following it. And after escaping the void, the light leads them to Chibi-usa.
- When Tuxedo Mask and the cats are stuck in a void of glitching colors, a man's voice tells them how to navigate out of the void. Tuxedo Mask decides to follow his instructions as he has a gut feeling that the voice is trustworthy.
- Get Back to the Future: Chibi-usa gains the resolve to return to the future with the help of the Sailor Team.
- Help Mistaken for Attack: Sailor Pluto assumes that Sailor Moon is an enemy who wants to abuse the Door of Space and Time and tries to eliminate her.
- Leave No Survivors: Esmeraude orders Ryuax to kill the Sailor Team with the exception of Chibi-usa.
- Murder the Hypotenuse: Esmeraude conveniently forgets to inform her Droid to also spare Sailor Moon with the hopes of having her killed alongside the others.
- Nightmare Sequence: Chibi-usa starts the episode with a nightmare involving the Sailor Guardians dying as they arrive to the future.
- Portal Door: In Pluto's void, there's a giant door that can lead travelers to any point in history. Sailor Pluto is revealed have guarded the door throughout her lifetime.
- Prehensile Hair: Ryuax can extend her hair to capture people.
- Red Herring: While lost in a dark void, Sailor Moon's Silver Crystal begins to react with the Silver Crystal of Crystal Tokyo. However, the Crystal wasn't signaling the Guardians from the future itself.
- Refusal of the Call: Sailor Pluto denies Mercury's request to join them on their mission as she's obligated to stay by the Door of Space and Time and protect it at all times.
- So Proud of You:
- Pluto says this to Chibi-usa for successfully using the Space-Time Key.
- Tuxedo Mask and the Guardians would later applaud Chibi-usa for her valiance in helping to defeat the Droid.
- The Spook: Luna mentions how Sailor Pluto's existence was kept a total secret where only very people knew of her and her duty.
- Spot the Imposter: Chibi-usa already figured something was wrong with her "mommy" when she sees her in the labyrinth. But it's the fact that "mommy" calls her "Rabbit" (“Small Lady” in the DIC dub) which solidifies her answer.
- Time and Relative Dimensions in Space: To reach Crystal Tokyo, the heroes need to travel through the Space-Time corridor which is a giant dark hall with gusts of power energy flowing through it. Anyone who loses their way ends up trapped in a labyrinth which resembles a barren wasteland.
- Villainous Crush: Prince Demande becomes infatuated with Sailor Moon after seeing her in Wiseman's crystal ball.
- We Need a Distraction: Chibi-usa daringly faces against Ryuax after learning from Mercury that there's a brief moment where her ability to warp time and space is paused. So she takes it on herself to distract the Droid while the Guardians use their finishing move.
