Mario clips out of the world and ends up in the backrooms. Things get very very weird.
After getting sucked down the toilet by Zero in the last episode, Mario finds himself in the endless maze of yellow walls known as The Backrooms.
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Mario, SMG4, and SMG3 are trapped in an unknown dungeon after being abducted by SMG0 via toilet and surrounded by all manner of creepy characters. And they still need to piss.
- The Bad Guy Wins: SMG0 successfully possesses Axol and traps Mario, SMG4, and SMG3 in the latter's USB, and there’s no sign that anyone can stop him.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Axol is confirmed to be this, even sporting a new appearance when fully controlled. It's highly suggested that SMG0's consciousness is inside of him.
- Cliffhanger: Zero has completely taken over Axol, Mario, SMG4 and SMG3 have been sucked and trapped in the latter's USB and Zero-possessed Axol gives us an Aside Glance with a Slasher Smile.
- Downer Ending: Mario, SMG4 and SMG3 end up trapped in the latter’s Guardian Pod, and SMG0 has taken over Axol’s body. And like Mario and the Waluigi Apocalypse, The Splatfest Incident, World War Mario, and Deleted., the credits are silent.
- Fade Around the Eyes: The episode ends with the glowing shot of the Zero-possessed eye of Axol.
- Fighting from the Inside: The warning signs in the backrooms were made by Axol to try and keep the others away.
- The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: The final shot of the episode is a Zero-possessed Axol staring at the viewer in a very creepy Aside Glance.
- Jump Scare: Zero gives us a nasty one once he fully possesses Axol and gives his new host a Nightmare Face.
- Nothing Is Scarier: Yet another episode where the credits are silent after something awful happens.
- Red Herring: That ominous USB floating over Peach's castle for the past two episodes? It was just a distraction. Zero wasn't inside of the USB, he was inside Axol.
- Running Gag: Everyone who was brought into the Backrooms was abducted via toilet. And right before that happened, they all said...Time to take a piss
- Wham Line: One line from Axol clues SMG4 that he and the other captives' trip through the backroom was all a big trap:Axol: MESSAGES. I LEFT YOU MESSAGES TO GO BACK!!(SMG4 flashbacks to the birthday room and the creepy Goomba and puts two and two together, horrified beyond belief)
