• The Bad Guy Wins: The Foot Clan successfully steal Sunita's boots, which are part of the Kuroi Yoroi.
• Call-Back: Brief clips from previous episodes are used to show how April's life is far from normal.
• Foreign Queasine: The Yokai pizza at the beginning has weird sentient eyeball creatures as toppings. April is grossed out while Leo and Donnie see nothing strange about it.
• I Just Want to Be Normal: April's plight in this episode is that she wants a normal day and normal friends. Same with Sunita.
• Paper-Thin Disguise: Leo and Donnie dress up like old ladies to better blend into the crowd as they try to ensure April’s time with Sunita is not interrupted by any weirdness. Naturally, April immediately recognizes them.
• Romantic Wingman: A platonic example. Leo and Donnie follow April and Sunita around to make sure nothing goes wrong with their hangout.
• Slime Girl: Sunita turns out to be this.
• Stalker without a Crush:
  • Donnie and Leo follow April and Sunita around town to make sure nothing goes wrong while the girls hang out.
  • The Foot Recruit and Brute also follow the girls, but to acquire Sunita’s boots, which are part of the Kuroi Yoroi armor.
• Weirdness Magnet: Leo calls April this a couple of times.
• Wild Take: April does one when she finds Leo outside the pizza joint.

Sparring Partner

• Acting Unnatural: While hiding Frankenfoot from his brothers, Raph tries to act like everything is normal. It doesn't fool anyone.
• Bad "Bad Acting": Raph poorly pretends to lose in a match with Donnie, which Leo points out.
• Blood Knight: Raph creates Frankenfoot to give himself a satisfying sparring partner.
