"TALLY-HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Skips' past self, Walks, shows up in the present thanks to a freak ballooning accident, and must be returned to his own time before Skips ceases to exist.

This episode includes examples of:

  • Antiquated Linguistics: Walks uses this, due to being from the 18th century.
  • Anything but That!: Mordecai and Rigby react in horror when they’re about to be sucked into the past by the Time-nado back to when they were in high school.
  • The Bermuda Triangle: Mordecai’s idea for time traveling without a machine is to go to the Bermuda Triangle.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: The rest of the group quickly picks up Walks’ catchphrase: “TALLY-HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!”
  • Bowdlerization: In the UK version, the scene of Skips' past self spitting in present Skips' book was replaced with a long shot of Past Skips staring at it (however, the shot of the saliva-covered pages hasn't been altered, making it obvious that something's missing).
  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: As they’re about to take shelter from a tornado, Mordecai and Rigby grab every kind of pizza pouch they have: “Pepperoni pizza pouch, sausage pizza pouch, pepperoni sausage pizza pouch…”
  • Continuity Cavalcade: Skips’ attic contains several continuity nods to past episodes: the ninja sword from “Skips’ Stress”, the Simon Kipner plate from “Free Cake”, the fists of justice from “Fists of Justice”, and the PlayCo Armboy from “Over the Top”.
  • Dramatic Thunder: When Skips reveals that the man they saved from the tornado is him when he was a teenager, thunder claps and then the lights go out.
  • Fictional Video Game: “Hot Air Balloonerz 5000”
  • Foreshadowing: Early in the episode, Mordecai and Rigby get Walks to try a pizza pouch, which he immediately falls in love with. Later, Walks tries to smuggle a bunch of them back to the past with him which causes Mordecai and Rigby to chase after him, fall into the hot air balloon bucket with him, and nearly get sucked into the past.
  • Future Badass: At first, Walks finds his future self lame, with no sense of adventure. However, he comes to see what a badass Skips is when his friends start sharing memories of all the awesome, exciting times they’ve had together.
  • Grandfather Paradox: Discussed. The guy Muscle Man knows who builds time machines apparently time traveled into the past, met his dad, caused his parents to never meet, and then faded from existence.
  • Inadvertent Entrance Cue: Skips says there’s only one person he knows that would have the storm-chasing equipment they need and he’s not even sure if he still chases storms. Cue Techmo bursting through the front door.
  • Never the Selves Shall Meet: According to Skips, if they don’t return Walks to the past “a whole chain of events will never happen” - including Skips becoming immortal.
  • Our Time Machine Is Different: Walks travels into the future via a tornado called a “Time-nado”.
  • Other Me Annoys Me: Walk finds Skips stuffy and boring, while Skips considers his younger self immature and foolish.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: A reference to the novel, A Wrinkle in Time.
  • Rapid Aging: This is what begins to happen to Skips as they’re rushing to get Walks back to his own timeline and his mortality starts catching up to him.
  • The Reveal: Walks’ face is kept hidden by his hat during the group’s initial rush to get him into their shelter. It’s only when they’re all safely inside that Skips’ pushes his hat back to reveal his younger self.
  • Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory: Muscle Man is able to remember a friend with a time machine who went back in time and accidentally prevented his parents from ever meeting, wiping himself from existence.
  • Vanity Plate: The license plate on Techmo’s van reads “STRMCHSR”.
  • You're Not My Father: Walks says this to Skips when he’s trying to keep him in the house:
Walks: Ye be not my father!
