Recap / Regular Show S 04 Ep 31 Country Club

Go To

Mordecai, Rigby, and the rest of the park crew do battle with the members of a posh country club who turn anything the park loses into a toilet.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Ambiguous Situation: It is unknown if the country club leader died of oxygen deprivation upon being launched into space or if he is still able to breathe.
  • And I Must Scream: The country club leader trying to turn Mordecai and Rigby into toilets ends up transformed into one himself, and launched into space. Mordecai and Rigby briefly wonder if he can survive up there, but presumably if he can he'll float as a sentient porcelain asteroid for all eternity.
  • Big Damn Heroes: After Mordecai and Rigby get captured, Benson and the rest of the Park employees come to the rescue, having become fed up with the country club stealing their stuff and decided to take their possessions back.
  • Big "NO!": The country club leader says several as he is turned into a toilet and launched into space.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Benson's reaction of finding out that the golf cart has been confiscated by the Country Club. It's loud enough to disrupt some crows in a tree and fly away.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: While the park workers are getting wrecked by the Country Club workers, not only do they manage to win but also get to deal a few good hits before getting overpowered.
  • Fate Worse than Death: Being turned into a toilet has got to be one of the most humiliating fates ever bestowed on someone. But what's worse? Being turned into a toilet and left to float in space.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: The country club leader ends up going through the machine the club uses to turn other people's thing into toilets, being turned into a toilet himself and launched into space. In addition, his defeat comes about as a result of Mordecai and Rigby, who he both pranked with a hundred dollar bill (starting the events of the episode in the first place) and planned to turn into toilets and shoot into space.
  • It's Personal: Each of the Park employees had something stolen by the country club, Thomas being the only exception thanks to not even knowing the park had a country club. More specifically, Mordecai and Rigby want the cart back, Skips wants his dreamcatchers, Muscle Man wants his meat locker, Hi-Five Ghost wants his four wheeler, Pops wants his prized orchid, and Benson wants his boombox.
  • It's Probably Nothing: When Mordecai and Rigby cause noise in the toilet room, they hide as two Swedish guards come in. The guards pretend to pull this trope in order to find out where the intruders are hiding. They act as if it was just their imagination, and make it sound as if they're walking away, and close the door. This causes a duped Mordecai and Rigby to sigh in relief, which causes the guards to locate and restrain them.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The Country Club Leader, for all his years of stealing people's stuff and turning them into toilets, not only gets turned into a toilet himself, but is blasted into space.
  • Makes Just as Much Sense in Context: For some reason, the club members are obsessed with turning whatever they steal into toilets. When Mordecai and Rigby call out how that doesn't make any sense, the leader writes it off as them not understanding because they're not rich.
  • Motive Rant: Benson pulls an epic one as soon as he and the rest of the employees pull their Big Damn Heroes moment, telling the club members that not everyone has it as easy as they do and that other people have to work hard to replace the stuff they've lost.
  • Remember the New Guy?: The Country Club and its members are introduced in this episode and are known enemies of the park employees. Everyone knows except Thomas, who didn't even know there was a country club in the park.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: The country club's attitude. It's even outright stated by a member that they can do whatever they like because they are rich. Oddly, this harassment extends to Pops as well.
  • So Proud of You: After the Park employees defeat the club members and get their things back, Benson tells Mordecai and Rigby that he's proud of them for standing up to the club and taking back what belongs to them. Skips affirms this as well.
  • [Verb] This!: During the battle between the Park workers and the country club, a jockey attacks Thomas with a stick. Benson tries to stop the jockey, telling him that Thomas is just an intern. He replies, "Intern this, buddy!" and kicks Benson in the face.
