Tiny Blue Dot

Sean and Sydney are bored on a hot day. The Propulsions whisk them out into outer space to teach them to appreciate Earth more. Oh, and it's a musical.
  • Award-Bait Song: "Tiny Blue Dot" is a gentle, beautiful ballad about how precious Earth is, accompanied by soft piano and light guitar. It never was nominated for any awards, sadly.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Sydney says "Somehow, this day just turned into a space-travel musical!" referencing how the episode is a Musical Episode.
  • Earth Song: "Tiny Blue Dot" is a soft ballad sung by the characters about how precious Earth is, and how it's worth protecting.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: Carrot joins the others to space this time.
  • Inherently Funny Words: Jet thinks that "boredom" is a funny Earth word, especially since there's no word for boredom on Bortron 7.
  • Job Song: "Intergalactic Travel Writers" is about Carrot and Celery's job as travel writers.
  • Kissing the Ground: When they get back home, the first thing Sydney and Sean do is kiss the ground.
  • Literal-Minded:
Sean: Ohh, I think I left my stomach on Venus.
Celery: Ooh, should we go back for it?
  • Musical Episode: This episode has three original songs, each relevant to the plot. They are of varying genres such as big band, Broadway, and a strange mix of tango/flamenco.
  • Ship Tease: After the gang leaves Venus, Sean starts getting queasy, but calms himself down by reminding that astronauts go through intense training to go to space. Jet then puts his arm around Sean's shoulder and tells him he's already a great astronauts, which makes the latter feel much better.
  • That Reminds Me of a Song: "Shall we make up a song about it?" and "Do I feel another song coming on?"
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Despite his Butt-Monkey status, Sean does get tossed a bone in this episode, where his being space-sick is treated with concern.

Earth Camping

Jet and Carrot go camping with Mitchell and Mr. Peterson. Naturally, Hilarity Ensues as the gang gets lost while hiking.
  • Adults Are Useless: Carrot and Mr. Peterson do nothing but bicker the whole episode, leaving the kids to solve the problem for themselves, and they generally act more mature than their fathers.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Mr. Peterson headpats Mitchell when he figures out that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
  • Alliterative List: Carrot and Jet go through their packing list, which consists of pickle juice, a ping pong paddle, and a pocket protector. It turns out, that their "packing list" was the "P" section of the dictionary!
  • All Work vs. All Play: The Petersons are All Work and the Propulsions are All Play. The Petersons take camping seriously, while the Propulsions goof off.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Mr. Peterson, Jet, Mitchell, and Carrot get lost in the middle of the woods on their camping trip. Carrot reveals that he has been marking their trail with Mitchell's jellybeans, but then a nearby squirrel comes and eats up the jellybeans that Carrot had laid.
Mitchell: Hey, that squirrel took all my jellybeans!
Jet: This is bad. He's eating our trail markers back to camp!
Carrot: Plus, his teeth are gonna be just awful if he doesn't brush.
  • Ate It All: Cody eats all of the Petersons' camping snacks.
  • Camping Episode: Well, duh.
  • Comically Missing the Point: A squirrel eats all of the jellybeans that Carrot had been marking their trail with. Mitchell and Jet are concerned that they are lost, but Carrot is only concerned about the squirrel's dental hygiene.
  • Instant Wristwatch: Mr. Peterson suddenly gains a watch when he points out that the crew have gone seven hours and twenty-three minutes without technology.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Jet says that he always has a sense of where he is, only to fall off a log immediately after.
  • Monster-Shaped Mountain: We don't get to see it on screen, but apparently the gang found a rock formation shaped exactly like an elephant.
  • Nature Tinkling: Implied. At the campsite, Carrot asks where the bathroom is, much to Mr. Peterson's annoyance. We don't get it see it on screen, but the implication is that Carrot peed in the woods afterwards.
  • Screwball Squirrel: A squirrel causes trouble by eating the jellybeans.
  • Slobs vs. Snobs: The episode shows that the Propulsions are the Slobs to the Petersons' Snobs. Jet is more laid-back and actually loves making mistakes and playing around. Mitchell is more uptight and serious, especially when he chastises Jet for folding the map into a hat. Mr. Peterson is uptight and takes himself way too seriously. Carrot is more laid-back, silly, and open-minded, which results in Carrot being a much happier person than Mr. Peterson. This is best demonstrated in this very episode, where they clash due to Carrot's inexperience with camping on Earth vs. Mr. Peterson's seasoned experience.
  • Sound Off:
    I don't know but I've been told
Camping songs will never get old
    Mr. Peterson: Ew, a mosquito!
Carrot: Ew, a mosquito! I love this song!
    • Later on:
    I don't know but it's been said
Bananas are yellow, apples are red
Jet: Um, but dad, some apples are green.
    Carrot: Eh, everyone's a critic.
  • Speak in Unison: Jet and Mitchell do this constantly throughout the episode, like when they say "I do!" when asked if they want marshmallows. They're perfectly in sync, not to mention that Mitchell is actually consistently happy throughout the episode. Their camaraderie can easily make one forget that they're rivals most of the time. And then in later episodes Mitchell keeps shutting himself out to avoid rejection.
  • Trail Of Breadcrumbs: Carrot marks the hiking trail with Mitchell's jellybeans so the group can find their way back to camp. However, Floyd the squirrel eats them all, rendering the group lost.
