"Welcome to Skybreakers! The massive multiplayer game where you can brawl! Shoot! And sail the open skies!"

Tari enters a whole new world and is immediately put to the test. Masa and Belle are prepared for Sheridan’s twisted experiments.

Alone and de-powered, Tari must prove she has what it takes to make it in the swashbuckling world of Skybreakers. Meanwhile, Sheridan puts Masa and Belle through a twisted game of Battle Blaze against a familiar face.

Episode 23 contains examples of:

  • Annoying Videogame Helper: It's pretty evident that everyone is tired of hearing Petey’s tips. It's so annoying that Sofia got premium membership for her friends so that they can skip the tutorial, but couldn't do the same for Tari because she was already in the game.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: The Warmup Boss for Skybreakers is a giant version of the skeleton pirate enemy Tari’s been fighting throughout the tutorial.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Petey helps stall Evelyn so that Tari can escape the tutorial level, but can't follow her through because he's coded to stay in Shipwreck Swamp.
    • Soon after, Theo, Lamar, and Marco arrive to save Tari, forcing Evelyn to retreat.
  • Came Back Wrong: Lucinia is alive enough to play video games, but due to not having enough mind fragments back in her after the botched extraction, she's completely devoid of emotion and shows no sign of recognizing her old friends.
  • Cliffhanger: Now that Tari is under the protection of her friends, Evelyn reports this to Sheridan, who decides to go and force Masa and Belle to be her teammates.
Sheridan: Once again, I’m going to do what Lucks never could…
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Masa and Belle’s restraints are rigged to electrocute them if they lag behind or attempt to call Sheridan out.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Whoever programmed Petey made him intelligent enough to stop someone (or at least an AI like Tari is) from bleeding, particularly in a game where there is Bloodless Carnage. This ends up saving Tari's life when her data fragments were spilling out of her body.
  • Don't Celebrate Just Yet: Tari gives a Big "YES!" when she manages to evade Evelyn and pass through the portal to the main map of Skybreakers… only for Evelyn to come out of the portal immediately afterwards.
Evelyn: Don’t put your hands down! This isn’t the 21st century! We don’t get achievements for finishing the tutorial level!
  • Fighting Your Friend: Masa and Belle’s training under Sheridan involves playing Battle Blaze against a partially-resurrected Lucinia.
  • Internal Reveal: Tari finally realizes that her injury from the previous episode was caused by Evelyn's knife, as well as the fact that she lost some data fragments from the bleeding.
  • The Reveal: When Masa and Belle awaken in the real world, they find that they're strapped to their chairs to keep them from leaving and have strange devices attached to their Meta Runner arms. Also seen is Evelyn, who has a device surgically installed on her head to give her Tari's abilities.
  • Shout-Out: Petey tells Tari if she tries to befriend a skeleton, she'll have a bad time.
  • Wham Shot:
    • After stunning the mysterious attacker, Masa goes up to confront them only to find... Lucinia.
    • Towards the end of the episode, A.I. Lucks suddenly looks distraught while looking at the live footage of Masa and Belle.
  • You Monster!: When we find out that Sheridan brought back Lucinia, but turned her into a mindless drone obeying his every command (not even responding to Belle's tearful pleas to say something), Masa gives his two cents.
Masa: Congratulations, Sheridan. You actually did outdo Lucks.
Sheridan: (excitedly) Oh, yeah? How's that?
