"Lucinia…? What did Sheridan do to her?"
Tari and the crew find themselves in a local town and a bunch of totally absolutely normal things happen there.
Tari, Theo, Lamar and Marco take a trip to Vagabond’s Landing to get new supplies, but soon find themselves fighting for their lives when Evelyn and Lucinia come after them.
Episode 24 contains examples of:
- Big "NO!": Sofia does this when Evelyn orders Lucinia to slash Tari.
- Cliffhanger: While Tari and her crew manage to escape in the Bluejay, Sheridan is satisfied with the data gathered by Lucinia during her first field run, and he approaches Masa and Belle to prepare them for their “employee induction”.
- Death Is a Slap on the Wrist: The dock master can respawn in the rare case where he dies, much to his disappointment.
- De-power: Inverted, Tari gains back her HUD, albeit in a somewhat buggy state, and the ability to break the game's rules after accidentally stealing some of Lucinia's data fragments.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Tari has one after knocking Lucinia down where she suddenly realizes that she is able to attack in a non-PvP area after she accidentally steals some of Lucinia's data fragments.
- Foreshadowing: The players who are about to be removed from the game by Evelyn scream in pain as if they were actally affected in real life. The next episode reveals that whenever this happens, that Meta Runner's mind is forcibly warped into Sheridan's server while leaving their bodies to slowly die.
- G.I.R.L.: A player is happy to have finally found a girlfriend, only to be looted by "her" after he got shot by Evelyn. Said "girl" had a masculine voice.
- My Rules Are Not Your Rules: Evelyn and Lucinia are able to kill players in non-PVP areas, and are also immune to being banned when Server Admins show up to try stopping the rampage. Tari ends up gaining the former ability after accidentally stealing some of Lucinia's data.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: When Tari calls out Marco for acting so high and mighty, he points out that Meta Runners like Tari are only great because they got all of their best stuff from sponsors while he rose to power with the stuff he built from scratch.
- Reused Character Design: The dock master has the exact same model as Petey with an aqua color scheme. The dock master explains that this was due to budget reasons.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Both Masa and Belle's eyes are shown to glow completely red whenever they're warped into a game or other simulation.
- Unfriendly Fire: Tari accidentally shoots Marco while trying to hit the enemy. Fortunately, Marco has more than enough health to be unfazed by it, though that doesn't change the fact that he was upset by her aim.
- Who Wants to Live Forever?: The dock master isn't too pleased that players can't hurt him since that means he'll be stuck doing his job for as long as the game exists. Then Evelyn uses hacks to kill him and he finds out that he just respawns after dying. Dang.
- You Are in Command Now: After managing to steal a new ship thanks to a daring play by Tari, Marco allows her to be captain of the new ship, which she christens Bluejay.
