Frank returns to the world of business with Charlie as his right-hand man when his old company runs into trouble. Meanwhile, Dennis impersonates a Canadian businessman called Brian LeFevre after the gang finds his wallet in the bar.
This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
- Ambiguously Bi: Dennis seriously considers having sex with the Asian boy he believes to be a prostitute in order to see how far he can go in pretending to be Brian LeFevre. He also invites both Dee and Mac to "get off with him".
- Bad Boss: Frank establishes that he's a nightmare to work for by deceptively helping to fix a paper jam that an office worker is having problems with, then callously and snidely asking, "did I just do your job for you?" He then fires the guy and declares he'll be doing more of that.
- Body Sushi: Frank insists on eating sushi off of a naked woman during his and Charlie's meeting with the Japanese investors.Frank: I want this sushi dinner to be the tits.
Charlie: Oh, okay. So you want it to be, like, really expensive?
Frank: No, I wanna eat sushi off of some Jap broad's tits! - Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs: Mac's "business ideas": bodyguards... a resort... a resort for bodyguards!
- Bystander Syndrome: Mac and Charlie admit that they basically stood by and watched as the real Brian LeFevre was stabbed to death in the alley outside Paddy's.
- Call-Back: Mac uses the alias "Vic Vinegar".
- Dead Person Impersonation: An unintentional case; it's revealed at the end of the episode that the real Brian LeFevre has been dead all along while Dennis has been impersonating him.
- Description Cut:Board member: Bring in The Warthog.
(cut to Frank on his hands and knees in his and Charlie's apartment, sweating and grunting like a warthog.) - Didn't Think This Through: Mac immediately claims to be Dennis and Dee's bodyguard and then gets upset when he's not allowed to drink because he's "on duty".Mac: Guys, lets get out of here. Everybody's treating me like the help.
Dennis: Well, you should have thought about that before you blurted out "bodyguard". - Does This Remind You of Anything?: All Dennis's talk of "getting off", culminating in this exchange at the end of the episode:Dee: You said "hang in there, I'll help you get off. I'll help you get off, Dee, I'll show you how to do it!" And then you leave me all on my own to try and just get off all by myself without helping anything!
Dennis: I did everything I could! I don't understand why you couldn't get off, that's not my fault! Some women just don't know how!
Dee: What?!
Dennis: I don't know what it is. You know, sometimes it's only the guy who gets off! - Dumbass Has a Point: Charlie, despite being borderline illiterate, is actually a very competent assistant to Frank and asks valid questions about business, such as what the company actually makes. Frank is perplexed: the company makes money into more money, because it's a hedge fund.
- Extreme Omnivore: Charlie and Frank are harvesting crow's eggs to eat at the beginning of the episode.
- The Face: Dennis ends up playing this role as he has marginally better social skills than Mac and Dee.
- Fingore: Charlie cuts a finger off Brian LeFevre's corpse and shows it to the crowd when he and Mac crash Frank's presentation. Apparently, Mac told him to get Brian's fingerprints, and he misheard it as "fingertip".
- For Doom the Bell Tolls: Used when Mac reminds Dennis that he isn't actually Brian LeFevre.
- Genre Savvy: Charlie and Mac knew right away that the investors wouldn't care to listen to their Fight Milk pitch after they revealed Brian LeFevre's death, so they opened with the video.Mac: No, um, we just didn't want to lead with the Atwater news because we figured you wouldn't stick around to watch the video.
- Happy-Ending Massage: The investors claim that they paid for both Dennis and Dee to get one of these.
- He's Back!: Frank returns to his old "ruthless businessman" persona.
- Incest Subtext: Dennis and Dee pose as a married couple, and Dennis invites Dee to "get off with him" in a disturbingly seductive tone. They also both get "jerked off" at the massage parlor, and at the end of the episode Dee is angry at Dennis for getting off without her.
- In a deleted scene, Dee and Dennis have a conversation about Dee "getting off" that stops being subtext and starts being just text.
Dennis: I'm going to get you off in ways no brother ever should. - Continues in the outtakes (showing a cut scene) as he asks "Prudence" to get excited for him, and she asks him to call her that again because it gets her off a little.
- In a deleted scene, Dee and Dennis have a conversation about Dee "getting off" that stops being subtext and starts being just text.
- Innocent Innuendo: The young caddy Mac and Dennis mistake for a prostitute contributes to this misunderstanding by saying he can take them both, but he might be a little sore afterwards.
- Jizzed in My Pants: Dennis claims that he "got off a bunch of times" during the presentation while he was exposed as being an impostor, and that it was "mostly sexual".
- Kick the Dog: Frank makes his return to the world of business by helping a young intern with a jammed printer, and then firing him on the spot for not doing his job. He eventually ends up firing Charlie as his assistant as well.
- Lethal Chef: Mac and Charlie, if the creation of Fight Milk is any indication: a mix of crow eggs, milk, and clear liquor. A later episode suggests it's actually so bad that UFC fighters use it to lose weight (since it causes your body to violently expel fluids).
- Mathematician's Answer: At one point, Charlie tries asking Frank what line of business the company is actually in, only to be given vague answers such as "We make money".
- Mistaken for Prostitute: Mac and Dennis mistake a young Asian man for a prostitute hired by businessmen to service them. He's actually a caddy.
- Money Fetish: Frank sells out his old company for this reason.Charlie: I thought you loved the company.
Frank: I do. But not more than money. And I just made a shitload of it. - Never Learned to Read: Lampshaded when Frank announces that he's teaching Charlie about the world of business.Dennis: Charlie can't read.
Frank: He'll adapt.
Dennis: He'll adapt to reading? - Politically Incorrect Villain: Frank comments that there's too many women and minorities working for his old company. He also uses the word "chinks" and "Japs" to refer to Asian people multiple times.
- Red Baron: Frank is known to his old business associates as "The Warthog".
- The Reveal: Brian LeFevre, the man who Dennis has been impersonating all episode, is actually the controlling shareholder of Atwater.
- Later, it is revealed that Brian LeFevre has been Dead All Along.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Mac immediately bails of Dennis's creepy impersonation scheme when he thinks that they have to have sex with a rentboy.
- Ship Tease: Dennis wants to get both Mac and Dee off with him. Mac bails pretty fast, but Dee wants to get off as well and she's disappointed when Dennis leaves her hanging.
- Soft-Spoken Sadist: Dennis lapses into this when he's talking about "the thrill of wearing another man's skin" and trying to convince Mac and Dee to "get off with him".
- Sticky Fingers: Mac and Dee immediately start rifling through drawers and stealing things when they enter the VIP box at the Phillies game.
- Stylistic Suck: Mac and Charlie's "fight milk" video.
- What the Hell Is That Accent?: As she and Dennis are supposed to be Canadian, Dee puts on an over-the-top accent. Dennis states that she sounds like a cartoon character.
