In 2042, Earth gets invaded by an alien force called the "Mimetic Beasts". They carry the Insania Virus, which usually targets males and mutates them into monstrosities. In the Final Battle against the Hive Queen, pilots Goh Saruwatari and Mira Ackerman lead the attack. Eventually, Mira is killed in a Heroic Sacrifice and Goh rescues a young girl, Anna Aoi.
Five years later, in 2047, Goh and Anna are about to get married when the Mimetic Beasts invade Earth again. While Goh returns to pilot the Dannar, Anna inadvertently activates the sealed-off Neo Okusaer and decides to help Goh fight against the Mimetic Beasts.
Mira reunites with Goh to fight against the Mimetic Beasts, but without Anna at the Dannar Base, the Go Okusaer cannot be powered. Anna returns to the Dannar Base to reunite with Goh and help their allies eradicate the Mimetic Beasts once and for all. Meanwhile, scientists desperately attempt to discover what causes the Insania Virus to spread out of control.
