Rachel tries to stop Ross and Jill from dating. The friends accuse Chandler of lack of sensitivity because he doesn't cry at sad things. Phoebe is discovered to be a porn star, except it's actually Ursula using her name.

- Blatant Lies: Ross claims he saw Joey going into the adult video store and ran in first to "surprise" him by pretending not to know him. Nobody buys it. Also Ursula denies that she appears in porn movies whilst Phoebe can see the film crew for one (off screen) in Ursula's apartment.
- Bob from Accounting: Rachel tries to set Jill up with a coworker, "Bob from Human Resources".
- Continuity Nod: When Joey finds out about Ross and Jill he mentions the time Chandler made out with one of Joey's sisters. Turns out he's still not entirely over that.Joey: I was mad at him for ten years.
Chandler: Joey...that was like five years ago.
Joey: Yeah, you got five years left!
Chandler: Joey...
Joey: You wanna make it six? - "Eureka!" Moment: While watching the porn movie, Monica and Rachel notice that Phoebe's character has a tattoo on her ankle, which she doesn't have, causing everyone to realize it's actually Ursula using Phoebe's name.
- Everyone Has Standards: Joey is a sleazy womanizer, but he's the only one who refuses to watch "Phoebe's" porn movie. That said, when the gang work out that it's actually Ursula in the movie he tells them to wind it back so he can watch. He also tries to get Gunther to ban the guy who tells him about "Phoebe" being in porn from coming back to Central Perk.
- Girl on Girl Is Hot: Ursula offers to get Phoebe a job with the porn studio and notes that "twin stuff" is really popular.
- Imagined Innuendo: When Joey and Ross bring home a copy of Buffay the Vampire Layer they've rented to show the other friends before the content of the film is revealed Monica, Chandler and Rachel assume it's just another sad film to test Chandler with. Which leads to this quote.Monica: (noticing the bag Joey’s carrying) Oh great! Did you get a movie?
Joey: Uhhh, yeah. Yeah. But uh, I don’t think it’s the kind you’re gonna like.
Chandler: You didn’t get more movies that are gonna have us reaching for the tissues all night did you?
(Joey and Ross exchange looks.)
Joey: Sort of… - I "Uh" You, Too: Rachel's response to Ross wanting to avoid Ship Sinking.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Since Ursula used Phoebe's name while she was staring in various porn films, Phoebe is able to pick up all of her unclaimed checks after she visits the company. She then makes sure that Ursula can't use her name in porn again by giving the company her "correct" address, and tarnishing her reputation by insulting "her" fans.
- Late to the Realization: Phoebe gets mistaken for her sister Ursula, who is starring in porn under Phoebe's name, and gets asked for her autograph by her "biggest fan". Not once does Phoebe question why anyone would be her fan or ask for her autograph; she doesn't find out until she walks in on the others watching one of Ursula's movies, and even then her reaction is "Oh, my God, what am I doing?"
- No Sympathy: Chandler is outright incredulous over the idea of crying in response to, of all things, what became of Bambi's mother.Joey: You didn't cry when Bambi's mother died?
Chandler: Yes, it was very sad when the guy stopped drawing the deer. - Parallel Porn Titles: Ursula has starred in such films as Sex Toy Story 2, Lawrence of a Labia and Inspect Her Gadget. The one that the friends watch is Buffay the Vampire Layer.
- Parental Neglect: In trying to get Chandler to cry, Monica breaks out his family photo album. One picture is of his school's parent's day, but instead of either of his parents, Chandler is standing next to a janitor named Martin.Monica: Where were your parents?
Chandler: Oh, they didn't want to come. - Porn Names: Ursula is using her twin sister's name to star in porn, which leads to Phoebe being confused for a porn actress.
- Ship Sinking: Ross notes that he stopped kissing Jill because he realised that doing anything with Jill would mean that nothing could ever happen between him and Rachel; as Ross puts it, he may not know at the moment if he and Rachel will ever get back together in the future, but he doesn't want to know that nothing can ever happen, choosing the possibility of a future with Rachel over the certainty of something happening with Jill.
- Shipper on Deck: Chandler is ultimately moved to tears over Ross and Rachel's inability to work things out.
- Shout-Out: The friends watch E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Chandler not crying at the ending is what incites his plot. They also discuss Bambi's mother's death as another example of a
Tear Jerker.
