In a parody of Mission: Impossible, Freakazoid and his friends travel to Vuka Nova, the brutal police state, to rescue the Douglas Family from Chesky Beresch Prison after they are falsely accused of espionage.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Affectionate Parody: Of Mission: Impossible.
  • Battle Discretion Shot: The camera pans up just before Freakazoid pummels a prison guard.
  • Continuity Nod: Debbie identifies Roddy as Dexter's driving instructor.
  • Everyone Hates Mimes: As the villains laugh over continuing to brutally interrogate the mime, it cuts to stock footage of a live-action audience applauding. The protagonists also don't bother to save him along with the Douglas family, though he does manage to escape. And he along with two other mimes serve as the punishment for Janos and Anton!
  • Evil Laugh: Janos Ivenovowels and Colonel Anton Mohacs do this when attempting to make the mime talk and later when cornering Freakazoid.
  • Emerging from the Shadows: The introduction of Professor Jones.
  • Enforced Plug: Parodied with the fake sponsorship from Anubis Market, an apparently in-universe supermarket with a jackal-headed mascot.
Freakazoid: What can I say? It kept me on the air for another season.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: Freakazoid says his family is a bunch of loons, but they're his loons.
  • Internal Reveal: Played for Laughs. Cosgrove accidentally lets slip Freakazoid’s Secret Identity right in front of Steff, much to his irritation. Professor Jones overhears it as well.
Cosgrove: Hey, Freakazoid... We're going to rescue your family, right? I mean, it's not like anyone here doesn't know you're Dexter Douglas.
Steff: You're Dexter Douglas?! Dexter "Creepy" Douglas is Freakazoid?
    Freakazoid: (face palms) COSGROVE!
Cosgrove: Sorry, kid. I thought Steff knew. I mean, she's your girlfriend, and all...
Freakazoid: I trusted you, and you just blurted it out! You should've checked with me first!
  • It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time: Freakazoid's idea to get everyone out of the prison safely sees him call Vukanova's capital to gloat and openly insult the leaders, which leads to the kind of response you'd expect.
Steff: Freakazoid, you just insulted the security minister and gave away our exact location.
Roddy: What was the point, lad? What's your plan?
Freakazoid: [thinks it over] Okay, I know you're gonna be mad, but I forgot the rest of my plan.
  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: Janos Ivenovowels and Colonel Anton Mohacs try to beat a confession out of the mime.
Freakazoid: Did they make the mime talk?
  • Lampshade Hanging: After all the shilling for Anubis Market, Freakazoid cops to how this kept the show on for another season.
  • Late to the Realization: "Oh, that's right. Enemy aircraft are bad."
  • Let's Split Up, Gang!: Justified. While Freakazoid assembles a team and heads into Vukanova, Roddy heads into the internet to disable the prison's security systems.
  • Little "No": Janos over being having to watch mimes do their acts.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Freakazoid over not going on vacation with his family and being there to protect them.
  • Put on a Bus: Freakazoid's mute butler, Ingmar, quits to become a rodeo clown and is replaced by his old friend, Professor Jones.
  • Running Gag:
    • This episode being sponsored by Anubis Market.
    • Professor Jones (voiced by and modeled after Jonathan Harris) is repeatedly asked if he was on a show with a robot.
      Jones: Never mind!
  • The Stinger: The logo for Anubis Market.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Lampshaded. Freakazoid could quite easily rescue the Douglas family, but Roddy warns him he can't because doing so 1) could endanger his secret identity and 2) would leave the episode two acts short.
  • Suddenly Shouting: When Roddy calls out to the prisoners from the next room, Debbie and Duncan respond normally, but Douglas eventually screams, "SAVE US! SAVE US!"
  • Tally Marks on the Prison Wall: Dexter's dad keeps trying, but is never able to get the number of hash marks right. The epilogue shows him back at home still struggling with the concept.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: After all the grief the mime suffered, he and his friends get to perform their routines for the tied up Janos and Anton (much to the villains' displeasure).
