In a parody of The Godfather, Freakazoid has to grant all requests made to him on his birthday, and thus cannot stop the Lobe's latest crime spree since he requested to be left alone. This causes the citizens to lose faith in Freakazoid while every other superhero is at a superhero convention on some moon.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Affectionate Parody: Of The Godfather.
  • Bad "Bad Acting": Joe's first attempt to act in this episode. He improves later in the episode, though.
Joe: [stilted] Oh, no! What are we going to do?
Freakazoid: You're gonna get some acting lessons, Mister!
  • Bad Liar: The Lobe when called out about what he's done by Freakazoid.
  • Batman Gambit: The Lobe made up the code book and especially the idea of superheroes granting requests on their birthdays. He also arranged for a superhero conference so that Freakazoid couldn't ask his colleagues if any of this was true or not.
  • Brick Joke: Joe did take some acting lessons and flawlessly delivers a scene from Romeo and Juliet.
  • The Cameo: Wakko Warner and The Brain make an appearance, and Freakazoid proceeds to argue with them over which of their respective shows is Steven Spielberg’s favorite.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: The Huntsman wallows in self-pity over moving to a new town and finding all the crime dried up immediately.
Huntsman: Oh, Freakazoid, I don't know what to do!
Freakazoid: You can act like a superhero! [slaps him]
  • Knew It All Along: Played for Laughs. After Freakazoid tears up the Superhero Code Book in frustration, a lone scrap keeps floating back in his direction. When he finally reads what it says and realizes that The Lobe played him, he has this reaction, only for a subtitle to say otherwise.
    Freakazoid: I KNEW IT!
    NO HE DIDN’T
  • Lampshade Hanging: It's mentioned the other superheroes are away at some conference, but we later see the Huntsman meeting with Freakazoid. On his way out the door, he's asked why he's not at the conference.
Huntsman: I lost the address! All I know is it's on some moon. I don't know which one. Darn the luck! Darn!
  • Not So Above It All: The Lobe waits to meet Freakazoid so that he can take part in a round of the Hokey Pokey.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: The memo that Freakazoid says he got from Steven Spielberg was based on an actual memo Paul Rugg received from Spielberg regarding Animaniacs.
  • Self-Deprecation: Steven Spielberg has no idea who Freakazoid, Wakko, and the Brain are.
  • The Stinger: "Cut it out!"
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Freakazoid over seeing what the Lobe meant by requesting he leave him alone.
  • Wicked Cultured: The Lobe knows the scene from Romeo and Juliet and is moved by just talking about it.

"Cut it out!"
