"I think I'm going to like it here."
Gobo, after accidentally breaking Boober's lucky walking stick, goes with Wembley to the Gorgs' garden to get a new one. But when Wembley is captured by the Gorgs, they treat him as a guest when he recognizes them as the rulers of the universe. That evening, Wembley's friends arrive to rescue him, but he refuses to leave, insisting he has to stay with the King and Queen of the Universe. Wembley realizes the Gorgs' true colors when they decide to enslave his friends.

This episode contains examples of:

  • And Your Reward Is Edible: When Wembley recognizes the Gorgs as the rulers of the universe, Pa and Ma not only let him out of the jar but share their dinner with him.
  • Bucket Helmet: Wembley's friends, when gearing up to rescue him, wear strainers and pot lids as helmets.
  • Character Name and the Noun Phrase: The episode's title.
  • Courtroom Episode: Junior wants to thump Wembley's friends but, per Wembley's request, Pa and Ma hold a trial for them.
  • Due to the Dead: Discussed, when Boober thinks Wembley's been thumped.
Boober: I will personally erect a memorial stone.
    Red: A memorial stone?
Boober: Yes. In memory of Wembley Fraggle, who went to find a lucky walking stick for a friend and was squished to death by Gorgs! [Cries.]
Mokey: Now, Boober, we don't know that he's been squished.
Gobo: Come on, everybody. We've gotta go up there and rescue him!
Boober: Us, go up there? But then we'll need five memorial stones!
  • Easily Impressed: Wembley has a tendency to agree with whatever anyone says. When he hears Pa calling himself the King of the Universe and wishing for someone to salute him, Wembley is happy to comply.
Pa: As King, what I want is loyal subjects.
    Wembley: Gosh!
Pa: I want... I want people to salute their king!
Wembley: I salute you, O King!
Pa: I want people to cry, "Hurrah!"
Wembley: Well, hurrah for the King!
    Pa: [gasps] Junior, my boy!
    Junior: Huh?
    Pa: Give me that jar!
  • Eek, a Mouse!!: Ma's reaction when Junior runs inside to show her the Fraggle he's caught.
Ma: [hitting Junior with a broom] Get that wretched, hideous thing out of my house this instant!
Junior: But... but, Ma, I finally caught a Fraggle!
Ma: Oh, it's a disgusting little thing. You don't know where it's been!
  • Fraggle Bites Gorg: At the trial, Wembley speaks out for his friends, and they're found not guilty. But when the Gorgs decide to keep his friends as slaves, Wembley bites Pa on the nose.
  • Gilded Cage: After they return home, Wembley tells Gobo that at first it was nice to live with the Gorgs and didn't feel like he was being imprisoned at all.
Wembley: At first, I thought it was kind of wonderful. Me, a Fraggle, knowing a king and queen!
    Gobo: I understand, Wembley.
Wembley: Well, I mean, it didn't seem like I was a slave. I guess some slavery feels like freedom.
    Gobo: I understand, Wembley.
Wembley: I didn't notice what they were doing to me 'til... well... 'til they tried to do it to you!
Gobo: Well, that's good, Wembley. You know who your friends are.
  • Good Luck Charm: Gobo, while getting his postcard from Uncle Matt, accidentally breaks Boober's lucky walking stickā€”and without it, Boober is too afraid to go to the Gorgs' garden to get another one. Gobo and Wembley go to find one, but on the way back, Junior catches Wembley.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: Wembley is flattered by the attention the Gorgs are slathering him with, not realizing that they're only doing this because he's kowtowing to them. Even when his friends are captured, he refuses to believe that the Gorgs would enslave them until Pa says it outright.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction:
Gobo: [on the way to the Gorgs' garden] Whoah, first up to get the mail, now up to the Gorgs' garden. It's turning out to be a dangerous day.
Wembley: Yeah, but we love it. Right, Gobo?
Gobo: Well, to tell you the truth, Wembley, sometimes I get sick of it.
    Wembley: Yeah, me too.
    [A Beat.]
Gobo: You sure do like to agree with a person.
Wembley: Oh, I gotta agree with that.
  • Judicial Wig: The Gorgs don these when Wembley wants a trial for his friends.
  • The Klutz: When Pa decides to keep the Fraggles as slaves, Wembley bites him on the nose. Junior, trying to grab Wembley, accidentally knocks the other Fraggles' cage off the table, breaking it open and letting them escape.
  • Lock-and-Load Montage: Played with. The Fraggles gear up to rescue Wembley while singing the "Recruiting Song (Heed the Drumbeat Now)." Their armor, though, is just a load of cooking supplies.
  • Lonely at the Top: Lampshaded, when Pa is lamenting the fact that there are no loyal subjects to pay homage to him.
Pa: Sometimes it gets lonely, especially if you're the King and Queen of the Universe... like us.
  • Made a Slave: Gobo tells Wembley the Gorgs will do this to the Fraggles. Wembley doesn't believe him until Pa outright says it.
Wembley: Gobo, these two are the King and Queen of the Universe!
Gobo: Wembley, they are Gorgs! They want to make slaves of us!
  • Stockholm Syndrome: Even though the Gorgs take him prisoner, Wembley sympathizes with them when they lament having no loyal subjects. When the other Fraggles arrive to rescue him, he insists that he has to stay with the King and Queen of the Universe.
Gobo: Poor Wembley. He'd try to be agreeable with anybody.
  • True Companions: Wembley's friends, arriving to rescue him.
  • Undying Loyalty: Defied. At first, Wembley refuses to go home with his friends, insisting that he has to stay with the King and Queen of the Universe. He changes his tune, though, when the Gorgs decide to make slaves of his friends.
