"You wanna see it again?"
While preparing for Fraggle Rock's first swimming extravaganza, Red insists on doing everything herself, rejecting her friends' offers to help with the costumes and scenery. Just then, the water in the pond disappears. As usual, the Pipebangers arrive to bang the pipes and make the pond fill up—but this time, nothing comes out of the pipes when they bang on them.

Gobo informs Red of Uncle Matt's discovery of an umbrella, which magically makes water fall from the sky. Confident she can get one, Red vows to go to Outer Space and retrieve one without anyone's assistance. Gobo follows her regardless. Red starts to go in, loses her nerve, and admits she needs help. Gobo fetches the umbrella, which the Archbanger Fraggle bangs the pipes with just as Doc, in the workshop, turns the water back on. Everyone rejoices, and Red celebrates by starting the extravaganza with her dive.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Answer Cut:
[Wembley watches the water in the pond start to vanish.]
Mokey: [coming over] Oh, look! The water's disappearing.
Wembley: Yeah, why does it disappear every day?
[The scene cuts to the Gorgs' garden.]
Junior: [pumping water] Why does Daddy take a bath every day?
  • Baths Are Fun: Sprocket is very excited about getting to take a bath in Doc's workshop.
  • Bathtub Scene: A canine example: it's Sprocket's bath day, as well as Pa's.
  • Company Cross References: A possibly unintentional and minor example, but Sprocket takes baths with a rubber duckie.
  • Correlation/Causation Gag: Traveling Matt sees a bunch of Silly Creatures open umbrellas, and then it starts to rain. He assumes it was the umbrellas that brought the water. When the Fraggles try using Doc's umbrella to re-fill their pond, Doc turns on his water, bringing it back.
  • "Everybody Laughs" Ending: As displayed in the page image, the Fraggles have one after Red messes up her dive.
  • Getting Hot in Here: Downplayed. It's not stated how warm the weather is at the Rock that day, but after Red's unsuccessful dive, it's shown that Mokey has taken off her sweater.
  • "I Am Great!" Song: Red sings in "Do It on My Own" about being the best at swimming, diving, painting, and sewing... to name just a few.
  • I Can't Do This by Myself: Red admits this to Gobo when she tries to go into Outer Space. It's a complete 180 from her Badass Boast song from early in the episode, "Do It On My Own."
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Red veers into this territory when at the tunnel leading to Outer Space.
  • Plot Parallel:
    • The Fraggle Pond is also the Gorgs' well, so whenever the Gorgs pump water, the pond empties. The Pipebangers then strike pipes in the Rock with sticks to make the water run. Unknown to them, the banging disturbs Doc, who empties the boiler in his workshop and supplies the underground caverns with water. When the Pipebangers are unable to fill up the pond, due to Doc having turned off the water, the Gorgs, like the Fraggles, end up needing more water.
    • Doc and Sprocket are about to have a bath at the end, like Pa throughout the story.
  • Sarcasm Mode: The rest of the Fraggle Five are unimpressed by Red's song "Do It on My Own," and interject sarcastic side comments throughout the song, including an unenthusiastic "hooray."
Red: [singing] Oh, I can swim, and I can win, 'cause I'm the referee!
I can give myself the prize for popularity!
I can even shout, "Hooray for me!"
    Other Fraggles: [flatly] Hooray.
  • Smooch of Victory: Red gives one to Gobo when the water appears.
  • Unwanted Assistance: Red refuses her friends' offers of help in preparing for the swim meet, ending up hurting their feelings (especially Wembley's and Mokey's), though probably unintentionally.
