"Excuse me, Eddy. May I fuel inject?"

While playing Truth or Dare, the Eds not only act like each other but also wear each other's clothes.

Tropes:

  • Appearance Angst: Edd becomes extremely embarrassed upon Eddy mentioning the gap in his teeth.
  • Balloon Belly: Eddy-as-Edd swells up after Ed-as-Eddy makes him drink all of Rolf's vat of raspberry juice.
  • Breather Episode: This is one of the few episodes where the Eds aren't working on a scam or has any serious stakes. It's just the Eds playing a game.
  • Brick Joke: Before the Eds interrupt the game of Truth or Dare, Kevin dared Jonny to "buzz off", with him attempting to fly. Towards the end of the episode after Ed tells Jonny he is acting like Eddy as a dare he tells Jonny "Buzz off melonhead", with Jonny laughing in amusement while saying "been there, done that".
  • Downer Ending: For Edd and Eddy as the former gets taken by Sarah (who mistakes him for Ed due to dressing up as him) to Ed's room to clean it up (where Edd falls into a dirty tub of gravy, to his absolute horror) and the latter gets beaten up by Kevin while trying to hide from him in Edd's room.
  • Girly Run: When imitating Edd, Eddy copies his tendency to run with his elbows out.
  • Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress: Ed and Eddy end up accidentally walking off a cliff at the beginning, but neither falls until Edd points out the "improbable alert," leading to Eddy quickly rushing back. Ed continues to levitate, convinced he can make the jump, before he too is pulled back.
  • Grub Tub: When sent to Ed's room, Edd is horrified to find himself in a tub full of gravy.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite being The Ditz, Ed proves to be an amazing actor, as shown by his spot-on impression of Eddy.
  • Idiot Ball: You know this trope comes in play when you learn that Rolf is the one who can see through Edd's disguise yet for some reason, Sarah couldn't.
  • Internal Homage: While mimicking Eddy, Ed uses the same voice he spoke with in the early episodes of the first season, before undergoing Vocal Evolution.
  • Literal-Minded: Jonny tries to act like a fly after Kevin dared him to "buzz off".
  • Malaproper: Eddy acting like Edd tends to use lots of big words he doesn't quite understand, leading to a lot of mix-ups. Eventually, Edd has to break character and correct him.
Eddy: Eddy, I too am thirsty. Quite partial, to be correct.
Edd: PARCHED! The word you're looking for is "parched"!
    • Ed, naturally, messes up a few words while roleplaying as Eddy:
Ed: Put a sock in it, Sock-In-It!
  • Old-Fashioned Fruit Stomping: Rolf drafts Ed to help him make raspberry juice by the foot-stomping way. Hilarity Ensues, of course, as the Eds had earlier dared each other into switching lifestyles, meaning Rolf has to make do with Double D.
  • Oh, Crap!: Eddy when Edd's security system unlocks his room, enabling Kevin to come in and beat him up.
    Eddy: [frightened] Oh dear. Pain.
  • Pet the Dog: Jonny and Plank playing Truth or Dare with Ed is this considering the kids, the former included, immediately quit the game once the Eds arrived and wanted to play with them.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: Happens when Rolf inquires of Ed's whereabouts and Sarah answers with a Shout-Out to the OG horrible sibling, Cain:
Sarah: "What am I, his keeper?!
    Rolf: "Yes."
Sarah: *Beat as she realizes he's right* "Backyard."
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The moment the Eds join the Truth or Dare game, all the other kids disappear.
  • Spin the Bottle: How the kids play Truth or Dare.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Ed is the only one of the trio to not suffer a mishap as he plays Truth or Dare with Jonny and Plank, with Jonny daring him to be Plank and Plank being dared to be Eddy.
  • Tree Buchet: The Eds try to catapult over a ravine with a bent tree, catapulting themselves into the alley and getting their heads stuck on the ground.
  • Troll: Kevin towards Jimmy (of all people) in the game of truth of dare. Jimmy picks dare and Kevin dares him to skip his turn.
