The Eds are determined to get a good spot at the swimming hole, but they oversleep. As a result, Kevin gets a hold of the spot the Eds want. Eddy is determined to get his spot back while Edd is freaking out over the lack of sunscreen.
Tropes:
- An Aesop: Let things go before they ruin your fun. Eddy is so fixated on getting his 'perfect spot' back that he ends up ruining the fun day the Eds could have had at the swimming hole otherwise.
- Aesop Amnesia: Eddy trying to challenge Sarah after the latter demands him to step off of her and Jimmy's spot, even after the many times the brat has pummeled him and his friends in the past. Edd even lampshades it.Edd: You'd think you would have learned by now, Eddy.
- Bavarian Fire Drill: Edd manages to get Jonny to leave his spot simply by blowing a whistle. Jonny thinks he's performing tryouts for a diving team and promptly dives into the swimming hole.
- Beach Episode: The cul-de-sac kids go to the local swimming hole to swim and hang out.
- Bullying a Dragon: Eddy decides to challenge Sarah's demand to stay out of her and Jimmy's spot. You can guess what happens to Eddy and the other two.
- Didn't Think This Through: Apparently, Double D never thought to just simply return to his house to get the sunscreen.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Kevin isn't seen once spending time with Nazz. Usually in most episodes Kevin hangs out with Nazz but not this one though it is implied that he helps carry her stuff by the end of the show.
- Embarrassingly Painful Sunburn: The end of the episode results in the trio getting sunburns. Edd was quite distressed earlier in the episode about forgetting the sunscreen, even more so when Ed wasted all of Jonny's. Ed makes the best of the situation by likening himself to a chameleon.
- Epic Fail: Ed has... trouble with trying to perform shadow puppetry.Ed: (showing only a hand) I think it's broken, guys.
- Impossible Shadow Puppets: Two examples when the Eds are doing shadow puppetry:
- Edd somehow manages to form a dinosaur skeleton with his hands.
- Eddy squeezes the top of Ed's head with his fingers, causing visible deformation on Ed's shadow. Ed comments that he can somehow feel it.
- Jerkass Has a Point: Kevin steals the spot that Eddy tried to get himself, but he wasn't wrong when he says he doesn't see Eddy's name on it despite Eddy's angry protests. Plus it was first come first serve, even if Kevin did technically shove Eddy out of the way.
- Pie in the Face: Discussed.Ed: Let's make a pie and hit me with it!
- This Is My Chair: The Eds overslept and failed to secure their favorite spot at the swimming hole, which is taken by Kevin. When Eddy demands that it's theirs, Kevin gives him the "I don't see your name on it" line. The Eds spend the rest of the episode trying to take over the other kids' spots in order to get closer to Kevin's.
- Too Dumb to Live:
- The Eds don’t put on sunscreen because they’re too concerned with a perfect spot and end up sunburned as a result.
- Eddy deliberately tries to take Sarah and Jimmy's spot and refusing to give it back. This ends as predictably as you would guess.
- You and What Army?: Eddy asks this when Sarah confronts the Eds. Of course, Sarah doesn't need an army...
