Recap / Dinotrux S 06 E 01 Superchargers

Go To

With frequent sandstorms plaguing the crater, the Dinotrux decide they need a light beacon so Trux in danger can find them, but the task seems to be too much for the group to handle.

Too much that is, until a nest of Spark Bug Superchargers is discovered.

It's Dinotrux: Supercharged!

Tropes:

  • Call-Back: The Superchargers from Battle return and become a key plot point for the series. D-Structs is even able to trick the others into thinking he's become Supercharged again by painting his emergency light blue and replicating the glowing effect he had when Supercharged as opposed to the new effect the other Trux have.
  • Game Changer: The Dinotrux have regular access to Superchargers now, allowing them to significantly boost their power, and even use them in power sources for their builds. It's such a big game changer, the name of the show has been changed!
  • Hand Wave: The Superchargers make the Trux glow in a different way than they did for D-Structs. Revvit just explains this away as the properties of a Supercharger being unpredictable and thus potentially impacting each Trux in a different way.
  • Hour of Power: Like they did before, Superchargers can provide an immense power boost to a Dinotrux, but will eventually short out after so long.
  • Power Glows: The Superchargers still have their distinctive blue glow, but now when installed into the Trux, their glow fills their entire body with Tron Lines.
  • Sequel Series: As Dreamworks has done with a few other shows, this season onward is listed as a seperate show in the Netflix catalog.
  • So Last Season: The build this time is so ambitious, it falls apart. Only with the power boost from Superchargers can the tower be completed.
  • The Day the Music Lied: Even with the normal triumphant build music playing, their first attempt at the light tower falls flat as the dinotrux just aren't strong enough to lift the heavy building materials that high.
