The KND crashland into a sea of asparagus, and find out that they have more to worry about than staying afloat.

Date of Mission: June 18, 2004

Now loading tropes:

  • Affably Evil: Stickybeard may be an adult and a greedy candy pirate and Numbuh 5's arch enemy. But as he so puts it, he'd rather "Be dipped in chocolate" than let the Great White Asparagus devour the then helpless Sector V on his watch. Later, he casually asks Numbuh 5 to keep it a secret that he saved their lives, so he won't be excluded from the Grown-up villains' next BBQ.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: Numbuh 2, as he's put in charge of removing the gum from their ship's gears but none of his teammates want to help him, and Numbuh 1 only angrily pressures him to hurry up when no progress is made.
  • The Cameo: Father makes a cameo at the BBQ, but doesn't have any lines.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Toiletnator was deliberately given the wrong address by Mr. Wink and Mr. Fibb. He says he realized something is wrong when it said Antarctica, but he just assumes it was an honest mistake instead of the other villains deliberately trying to keep him away.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Sector V tries to crash the villains' BBQ, only to see that they severely miscounted just how many villains showed up.
  • Dwindling Party: Through the course of the episode, the members of Sector V slowly get picked off by the Great White Asparagus and the surrounding environment.
  • Enemy Mine: Stickybeard saves Sector V from the Great White Asparagus because he doesn't want to see anybody (not even his worst enemies) claimed by it.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Stickybeard may hate the KND, but he hates vegetables even more, deciding to save them from being eaten by the Great White Asparagus.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: Numbuh 5 to Numbuh 1 in her usual role as Only Sane Man.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: After rescuing Sector V, Stickybeard and his crew even allow the kids to eat some of their candy. Numbuh 5 also repays the favor by showing Stickybeard a blurpleberry lollipop stuck in his beard, which he cheerfully takes.
  • Hope Spot: The kids think they've escaped the villains after getting into the air, only to get shot at by Stickybeard's ship.
  • It's All My Fault: After Numbuh 2 gets eaten, Numbuh 1 tearfully blames himself.
  • Jump Scare: How Numbuh 1 gets eaten.
  • Kids Hate Vegetables: Especially when floating in an entire sea of asparagus. Numbuh 1 says his mother keeps serving it for dinner, which he suspects is because of Mining for Cookies. Numbuh 4 absolutely balks at eating it, despite repeatedly insisting he's starving. It turns out most adults hate vegetables, too. Not only does Stickybeard bail out the KND for that reason, but Mr. Boss also scolds Toiletnator for bringing vegetables to the BBQ (referring to the stuff as garbage they make their kids eat).
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!":
    • Sector V get this when they realize that the party they're trying to crash is composed of a significant chunk of their Rogues Gallery.
    • Later again when they realize they're being menaced by the Great White Asparagus.
  • Meat-O-Vision: Under the delirium of hunger, Numbuh 4 starts to hallucinate that instead of slathering sunscreen on her rainbow monkey, Numbuh 3 is squirting ketchup onto a tasty cheeseburger.
  • Mining for Cookies: Sector V ends up in a literal sea of asparagus, with Numbuh 1 guessing this is why adults keep trying to feed it to children, they're attempting to dispose of it all.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Downplayed. Stickybeard is fine with other villains beating the Kids Next Door, but refuses to let the Great White Asparagus, or any vegetable for that matter, to defeat them, viewing them as an unworthy opponent to defeat the KND.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite giving the Toiletnator a fake invitation saying the barbecue is in Antartica, when Toiletnator appears, Mr. Boss tells him to have a hamburger instead of telling him to scram.
  • Planimal: The Great White Asparagus is a huge vegetable that acts like a giant predatory sea creature and appears to have an animal-like digestive system.
  • Production Throwback: The pig on Mr. Fibb's apron resembles the pig that Kenny's head gets turned into from Diseasy Does It.
  • Sea Monster: In the form of a living giant white asparagus that devours children.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Sector V's ship gradually sinking as the episode progresses bears a resemblance to the climax of Jaws, where the Orca was steadily sinking.
    • The Great White Asparagus resembles the giant killer worms known as Grabloids from the Tremors movies.
  • Status Quo Is God: Stickybeard tries to invoke that just because he saved the KND from the White Asparagus doesn't mean they aren't still enemies and will resume their fierce rivalry once they leave the sea of asparagus.
  • Tactical Withdrawal: After revealing they've crashed the barbecue, Sector V sees dozens upon dozens of villains in attendance. They immediately book it to the nearest escape vehicle.
  • Uninvited to the Party: The Toiletnator was given the wrong address to the BBQ on purpose. He found out where the BBQ was really being held and came anyway.
  • Villainous Rescue: Despite shooting Sector V's ship into the Asparagus Sea, Stickybeard saves them from the Great White Asparagus because he wouldn't wish such a fate on even his worst enemies.
  • Villains Out Shopping: The episode opens with the villains having a BBQ party at Mr. Boss' house.
