Original air date: July 11, 2006

Lumpus is led to believe he's dangerously underweight, so he tries to hunt down and devour the obese lard-a-doodle to gain the needed weight.

  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Lumpus gets his weight gain he wanted the whole episode, only it's by being overfed chewed up worms and bird food by the lard-a-doodle. By the end of the episode he's in complete agony from the experience.
  • Big Eater: The lard-a-doodle is a morbidly obese bird that is able to eat the fully grown Lumpus like a snack.
  • Dramatic Irony: We the audience know that Lumpus received Lazlo's weight instead of his own, meaning he was never in danger of dying from being underweight.
  • Getting Eaten Is Harmless: Lazlo and Lumpus survive a trip to the lard-a-doodle's belly just fine, though they only survive by getting the lard-a-doodle to lay eggs.
  • Intentional Weight Gain: The basic plot of the episode.
  • Jerkass Ball: Lazlo grows a sudden ego for a moment when Lumpus says he’s right, saying "of course I am".
  • Laser-Guided Karma: For being petty enough to cut in line just to get a lollipop, Lumpus is led to believe he’s in danger of dying from being underweight leading him to his extremely painful fattening.
  • Not Me This Time: Usually McMuesli's healthy food is met with derision and disgust. Here, not only does Lumpus enjoy it without complaint until he learns it's healthy, but even Nurse Leslie prescribes it for his weight loss. McMuesli was also legitimately trying to help Lumpus lose weight.
  • Post-Treatment Lollipop: This sets the plot in motion. Lumpus shoves Lazlo out of the way so he can steal the lollipop meant for him, with Nurse Leslie thinking Lazlo is subsequently trying to steal an extra one. Lumpus is then read Lazlo's weight.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: By the end of the episode, Lumpus has swollen to be as morbidly obese as the lard-a-doodle.
  • You Monster!: McMuesli freaks out when Lumpus says he’s trying to gain weight and says he’s a monster not of this world.

The Squirrel Scouts go nuts for Samson when they realize he looks like teen pop idol Hanley Manster.

  • Brick Joke: Edward rewards Chip and Skip with food vouchers for every time they help him in ratting out Samson to the Squirrel Scouts. At the end of the episode, the two use those same food vouchers to buy food for the Jelly Scouts and Samson while dropping a few.
  • Butt-Monkey: Samson spends the whole episode having to run away from the crazed Squirrel Scouts, which escalates thanks to Edward's scheming.
  • Didn't Think This Through: In an attempt to barricade the door, Raj used a large amount of wood to help seal the deal. Lazlo asks him where he got it from, which Raj answers that he and Clam got it from the back of the cabin. The elephant realizes his mistake as the Squirrel Scouts enter through the open side and continues pursuing Samson.
  • Idiot Houdini: Chip and Skip had no problems helping Edward in regards to the Squirrel Scouts' fangirl obsession with Samson in exchange for food vouchers, and unlike their fellow cabinmate, receive no comeuppance for their involvement with the scheme.
  • It Amused Me: Edward finds the Squirrel Scouts chasing after Samson hilarious and opts for Chip and Skip to expose Samson just to stay entertained.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Edward spent the episode enlisting Chip and Skip into luring the Squirrel Scouts towards Samson's location just so he can feel amused from seeing Samson run from the girls. Thanks to Raj and Clam inconspicuously finding out Edward's scheme, the two turn the tables by slipping the DreamBoat magazine, now edited with a picture of Edward taped to the front cover in Hanley Manster's place, inside the Jelly Cabin so the Squirrel Scouts could stop bothering towards Samson and inflict that same level of torment towards Edward instead.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Edward's scheme could've gone completely without a hitch had he not sat watching from in front of the Jelly Cabin gloating about his plan, with Raj and Clam finding out from a distance under the cabin and deciding to inflict that same treatment to him.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: Edward gets tormented by the Squirrel Scouts at the end of the episode, and unlike with Samson's, all of it is shown offscreen with just Edward screaming. Given the others' reactions to it, it is not a pretty sight to behold.
  • Pet the Dog: After Edward is maimed by the Squirrel Scouts, Chip and Skip offer to buy Lazlo, Raj, Clam, and Samson dinner using the food vouchers the former paid them with.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: As the Squirrel Scout frenzy worsens, Raj and Clam decide to leave their cabin by sawing under to escape the girls. This works to their benefit as the end up overhearing Edward's gloating and decide to secretly arrange to have Edward tormented instead.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Zigzagged. After realizing the benefits that come with their obsession over him, Samson decided that the Squirrel Scouts' frenzy wouldn't be so bad after all and attempted to jump from the totem pole into their arms. Thanks to Raj slipping the DreamBoat magazine under the door, the girls end up turning their attention towards Edward, thus ending Samson's temporary fame with them. At least Samson won't be bothered by the girls from the misinterpretation anymore, as well as the fact that Chip and Skip offer to buy dinner for him and the Jelly Scouts.
