  • Attention Whore: Camilla nags to her friends that Roy hasn't been paying any attention to her.
  • Betty and Veronica: Wendy, who is nice if a bit sarcastic (Betty), and Camilla, who is an unpleasant Spoiled Brat (Veronica), have feelings for Travis. Travis ends up with Wendy in spite of Camilla's attempts of sabotaging Wendy.
  • Black Comedy: Wendy tells Travis that many boys would walk on water to get a date with Camilla and mentions that one boy took the statement literally and was found dead in the bottom of a lake.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Travis literally saved Bowser's and the entire Royal Family's life from Tyson. Bowser doesn't remember Travis doing this.
  • Call-Back:
    • The events of both "The Love Potion" and "Bowser's Bodyguard" are referenced with Camilla still being married to Roy and Travis saving Bowser from Tyson respectively.
    • Bully states that he apologized to Wendy for beating up her brother, recalling the events of "The Meanie".
    • Iggy mentions that the last time his siblings used one of his inventions, they almsot ended up with death penalty, refering to their time in queen Mariah Koopa II's castle in "Time Travel Trouble III".
  • Childhood Brain Damage: Camilla reveals that Ally's father accidentally dropped her when she was a baby while talking to someone on the phone.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Morton sees Wendy stuck in Iggy's doorway, he mistakes Wendy for an actual door.
  • Cutaway Gag: At the end of the episode Travis asks Wendy how did Camilla react to them being on a date. She tells him that she'll worry about her later. Cue to a scene of Camilla looking at herself in the mirror and finding out that she's bald.
  • The Dog Bites Back: After being tricked by Camilla into becoming overweight and almost ruining her relationship with Travis, Wendy shaves off Camilla's hair while she's asleep as revenge.
  • Everyone Has Standards: A. Byzmal, who has a deep hatred for Bowser and his family, thinks that Camilla tricking Wendy into becoming overweight is going too far even for her.
  • Failed a Spot Check: King Boo apparently never noticed that Wendy was female.
  • Furry Reminder: While crying over the fact that Camilla has stolen Travis away from her, Wendy hides in her shell.
  • Gold Digger: During their date, Camilla only asks Travis for superficial stuff like how much money he makes or how big his house is. Travis then excuses himself from the date by claiming that his dad is sick.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Camilla has set her eyes on Travis in spite of him being interested in Wendy and vice-versa. She even goes out of her way to try and sabotage Wendy's date.
  • Chubby Chaser: Camilla tells Wendy that Travis likes "bigger" girls in order to trick Wendy into gaining a lot of weight so that Travis would dump her out of disgust.
  • I Heard That: Kamek screams this off-screen after Bowser calls him a "boring old clown".
  • I Need to Go Iron My Dog: In an attempt of keeping Travis distracted until Wendy is back to normal, Bowser tells him that Wendy has hit her head in the shower, fallen unconscious and sent to private far government island.
  • Incredible Shrinking Man: Kamek's spell to turn Wendy back to normal after she becomes morbidly obese due to her compulsive eating and drinking one of Iggy's potions works, but since it wasn't fully polished, Wendy ends up shrunken as a side effect.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: After many episodes behaving like a complete brat and always getting away with her poor treatment of others, Camilla finally gets what's coming to her after Wendy shaves off her hair while she's asleep.
  • Kick the Dog: Camilla does nothing but torture Wendy for the whole episode just because she wants a date with Travis even though both Travis and Wendy are interested in each other. At the end of the episode, Wendy gets back at Camilla by shaving off her hair off-screen.
  • Locked in a Room: Larry, Iggy, Lauren and Ally end up stuck inside Iggy's bedroom after Wendy gets stuck in the door due to her size.
  • Love Triangle: The title of the episode. Wendy tries to have a date with Travis, but Camilla keeps getting in their way beause she also wants to date Travis.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: Downplayed. Camilla tries to make Wendy overweight in the course of a week so Travis will be disgusted with her and be able to date him herself.
  • Noodle Incident: Ludwig implies that the reason Wendy doesn't have any hair is because hers attracted too much lice. How did the lice even manage to make Wendy bald?
  • No Sympathy: While Travis saying that his father is sick is most likely just an excuse to get away from Camilla, Camilla saying that Travis' father is a "pussy" for being sick and keeping him busy doesn't play any cards on her favour. Camilla also seeing how Wendy gains more and more weight each day without feeling any remorse whatsoever also counts.
  • Popping Buttons: Wendy's necklace pops off after she becomes huge and overweight after drinking one of Iggy's potions.
  • Revenge: After everything she put her through, Wendy shaves off Camilla's hair while she's asleep in revenge.
  • Stock Audio Clip: Wendy's line, "There's gotta be something in here", is played twice.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: Wendy grows fatter and fatter with every subsequent day in hopes of impressing Travis after being tricked by Camilla. She gets her regular weight back (but is shrunken) at the end of the episode.
  • Yandere: Yes, Camilla did just try to ruin Wendy's life simply because she got to have a proper date with Travis.
