Tigatron and Airazor are abducted by a mysterious alien device, and Megatron plans to use the device for his own.

  • Admiring the Abomination: Megatron refers to the Metalhunter as incredible. Others look on in awe, too.
  • All There in the Script: The alien device at the end of the episode goes unnamed in this part and the next, but the script called it Metalhunter.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Megatron reclaims the Alien Disk by ripping off Rhinox's arm.
  • Berserk Button: Megatron has gotten really sick of Inferno referring to him as his queen.
Megatron: And for the last time, stop calling me that!
Inferno: As you command, my— [Megatron strangles him]
  • Both Sides Have a Point: When plotting out their move against the aliens, Dinobot argues they need to take the Beast Wars to Megatron. Rattrap disagrees, arguing they may need to pull an Enemy Mine with the Predacons to take out whatever weapon the aliens send this time. Optimus sides with Dinobot, reminding everyone their last truce with the Predacons was a joke and they can't fight both the aliens and Megatron at the same time.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Invoked: Tarantulas is willing to back talk directly to Megatron's face because he knows that Megatron will need him if he wants to survive the aliens.
  • Cliffhanger: The Metalhunter zapping all of the remaining characters.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Blackarachnia references how she and Tarantulas shared minds for the first part of the season.
    • Optimus recalls his death the last time the Vok threatened them. He does so again when he refuses to let Megatron handle this situation.
    • Dinobot giving Megatron back the Golden Disk in the prior episode.
  • Enemy Rising Behind: Rhinox warns Blackarachnia to not try anything with the Alien Disk, just as Megatron steps behind him.
  • Evil Laugh: Played for Laughs with Megatron and Tarantulas doing it at the same time.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • The plant's drifting seeds are shaped like the Metalhunter.
    • Even though his defection in the previous episode was brief the majority of the Maximals are rather short and gruff with Dinobot despite him trying to come off as unusually friendly and talkative to him this episode, a hint that their trust in him is damaged and he'd have to do something drastic and permanent a few episodes later to try to make up for his actions.
    • Blackarachnia revealing that she learned some of Tarantulas' secrets during their mind link earlier in the Season. What exactly she learned and is hinting at here will be revealed come "The Agenda".
    • Blackarachnia also briefly, unwittingly reveals she's developed a crush on Silverbolt.
  • "Hey, You!" Haymaker: How Rhinox gets back at Inferno for shooting him point-blank.
Rhinox: [taps Inferno's shoulder] That hurt. [repeated haymakers]
  • Idiot Ball: While it could probably be attributed to panic, Airazor and Tigatron don't think to use their wrist mounted weaponry to free each other from the vines. In fairness on this point, the vines did wrap around their wrists and may've prevented them from activating their weapons, but all the same, Tigatron and Airazor are never shown attempting to use them, either.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Dinobot prefers to focus on the aliens rather than do anything about Tigatron and Airazor. Especially notable since the events of "Maximal, No More" had shaken their trust in him.
Cheetor: "Just what I'd expect from a Predacon".
Dinobot: "Maximal or Predacon, what difference does it make?! These aliens seek to destroy us all!"
  • Mass "Oh, Crap!": Just before the Metalhunter goes off.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: When Tarantulas appears at the Predacon Base, Inferno takes aim. Megatron punches him aside, saying the spider is his to deal with.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: Blackarachnia absentmindedly refers to Silverbolt as hunky before catching herself mid-sentence.
  • Phrase Catcher: Lampshaded when the others glare at Rattrap for insisting they're all going to die.
"I know, I know. 'Shut up, Rattrap.'"
  • The Power of Hate: Tarantulas no longer considers himself part of the team, but he will help Megatron against the current alien threat. When Megatron questions this, Blackarachnia says it's because Tarantulas positively hates the aliens. Megatron actually finds that reassuring.
Megatron: So, you act out of hate. Excellent. That's an emotion I can trust.
  • Put on a Bus: Airazor and Tigatron are abducted by the Vok and aren't seen again until near the series finale. Nor are they even directly mentioned by other characters after this two-parter.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: While scoping out the canyon, Tarantulas realizes Optimus is about to arrive, so he immediately makes himself scarce.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Rhinox and Inferno's slugfest echoes the game, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.
    • "Waspinator pinned like iron butterfly."
  • Tactical Withdrawal: After Megatron reclaims the Alien Disk, Blackarachnia reports more Maximals are on the way. Megatron says this is certainly a perfect time to leave.
  • Taught by Experience: Dinobot wants to take the fight to Predacons and defeat them before the aliens arrive. Optimus agrees, saying the last truce was a joke. Even after a new anomaly appears, Optimus still wants to take down Megatron rather than chance a later double cross.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: The other Predacons when Tarantulas announces he no longer works for Megatron. They all know how badly Megatron will react to that.
  • Villain Team-Up: Tarantulas has quit Megatron's team, but he agrees to help him due to his hatred of the aliens.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Blackarachnia momentarily muses about her crush on Silverbolt aloud before catching herself.
Megatron: We have no time for Maximals now.
Blackarachnia: Ugh, when do we ever? (to herself) Except, maybe for that hunky Silver— (quickly quiets herself)
  • We Need a Distraction: Megatron distracts Rhinox, while Inferno and Blackarachnia sneak into the base.
  • Xanatos Speed Chess: Upon learning of the various Maximals out in the field, Megatron realizes their base is quite undermanned and that that gives him the perfect opportunity to reclaim the Alien Disk.
  • You Are Too Late: Rattrap and Dinobot successfully take out the jamming tower, only to realize they were too late to warn Tigatron and Airazor.
