Basic Trope: Moral restraints are a character's strength.

  • Straight: Amazing Girl's codes of honor are responsibility, honor, and justice. She clings into these ideals to withstand the adversities of life.
  • Exaggerated: Amazing Girl has every principle she clings to (chastity, diligence, etc.) This is why she easily defeats the Monster of the Week.
  • Downplayed: While Amazing Girl has but a few flaws, her code of honor is pacifism.
  • Justified:
    • Every hero must have principles to inspire those to deal with everyday life.
    • Amazing Girl gets her powers from the Pendant of Purity, which grants Flying Brick powers proportional to the person's adherence to strict morals. She could relax her standards, but prefers the power to liberty.
    • She used to be The Unfettered or a former villain and caused a lot of damage and destruction. The fetters are for everyone else's protection, not hers.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: The truth is Amazing Girl is a hypocrite who indulges in every vice imaginable behind closed doors and a fantastic PR campaign.
  • Double Subverted: ... which is a ploy she used to become a sleeper agent in the Council Of Evil. With the help of her friends, she makes it seem like she's an unprincipled monster while saving lives and helping bring down the bad guys.
  • Parodied: Amazing Girl is a strong hero because she adheres to the code of never smoking a blunt.
  • Zig Zagged: Amazing Girl values responsibility, but decides to have a little fun. She does value chastity, but then she decides to kick it with her boyfriend who happens to be unaware of her identity. She still values pacifism, but then decides to kill the serial killer the other day.
  • Averted: Moral principles are neither a character's strength nor weakness.
  • Enforced: The Moral Guardians are keeping an eye on this show and don't want to see a "hero" with bad behavior.
  • Lampshaded: "Of course she's a paragon of virtue, we might as well discuss why Anti-Hero Grim Girl is so dark and edgy."
  • Invoked: Alice wants to brand herself as a stalwart defender of virtue and goodness, so she adopts an over the top goody-two-shoes moral code as best she can.
  • Exploited: Amazing Girl's enemies use Flaw Exploitation by rigging bombs to a Bus Full of Innocents, and set off a timer to force Amazing Girl to save them rather than catch them.
  • Defied: "Oh, bull! I don't need a bunch of silly rules or ideals to make me look strong!"
  • Discussed: "Yes. I know I'm practically a Purity Sue, but you know what? I like being good and helping people, and all this "ethical gray" relativism talk is just jargon Anti Heroes use to justify themselves. The world is complicated but that doesn't mean we have to compromise daily."
  • Conversed: "Amazing Girl doesn't have a chance against those ruthless villains, they'll play her like a fiddle unless she outwits them at every turn."
  • Deconstructed:
  • Reconstructed:
    • But every hero can't always be the paragon of virtue, so Amazing Girl clings on the principles while having the feel the need of getting things done when it's necessary.
    • In a world where supers tend to be distrusted, Amazing Girl's strong moral code allows her to operate as a publicly beloved and trusted hero, while darker heroes are hampered in their duties by fear and suspicion from the authorities.
    • Amazing Girl is resolute, not naive. Even if she personally would not perform a reprehensible act, she can still realize her opponents would and prevent said actions within the limits of her moral code.
