- Straight: Awesome Alice wears predominantly red, Bumbling Bob wears orange, Chucking Charles wears yellow, Deviant Danny wears green, Excitable Evelyn wears cyan, Frank Francis wears blue, and Gabrielle the Great wears purple, for the sake of distinguishing themselves.
- Exaggerated:
- Horrid Harry wears white, Innocent Irene wears black, Joey Jo Jo Junior Shabadoo wears brown, Katherine the Kind wears pink, Lovely Leah wears magenta, Maybe-Someday Mae wears gray...
- Everything that surrounds a character is their specific color, for instance not only are all of Alice's outfits red, so is her house, her car, and she even owns a bright red dog.
- Downplayed:
- The characters aren't color coded, but they do have Rainbow Color Motifs.
- Every character has to wear an identical uniform, but each character adds little decorations of their color.
- Justified:
- The characters' colors are indicative of their role - for instance, all medics wear pink, but the only medic that is a major character is Katherine.
- The characters are Massive Numbered Siblings and their parents use their specific colors to tell them apart.
- Inverted:
- Everyone on the team wears the same color.
- The entire cast wears the same color.
- Subverted: Mae shows up to a team meeting wearing Alice's Red...
- Double Subverted: The other team members hold her at gunpoint until she puts on gray again.
- Parodied:
- ...and Naughty Norman wears maroon, and Out-Of-The-Blue Oliver wears navy, and Patient Priscilla wears peach, and Quintessential Quentin wears beige, and Respectable Rachel wears violet (which she insists is completely different from Gabrielle's purple), Socking Sam wears mauve, Terrible Terry wears silver, Usual Ursula wears tan, Vigorous Verge wears gold, Weighty Wally wears burnt orange, Xanadu Xavier wears xanadu, Yawning Yolanda wears rainbow, and Zig-Zagging Zack wears nothing. - The team is extremely pedantic when it comes to naming the colors they wear. Alice wears vermilion, Bob wears light bronze, Charles wears goldenrod, etc.

- The characters prefer to wear their designated colors, but they don't always.

- Averted: There are no Color-Coded Characters.
- Enforced: The producers want to make sure every character is distinctive looking, so their action figures stand out better.
- Lampshaded: A Limited Wardrobe closet gag shows that everything in Bumbling Bob's closet is the exact same shade of orange, even his underwear, socks, and accessories.
- Invoked: Upon their introduction into Innocent Irene's crime fighting group, each character is given a specific color uniform to wear.
- Exploited: To trick Horrid Harry, all the girls are given red dresses to disguise themselves as Alice.
- Defied: Mae is allowed to wear Alice's red without any repercussions.
- Discussed: Evelyn: As much as I like light blue, I think blue lipstick is overkill...

- Implied: After Excitable Evelyn leaves, she is replaced by new Chick Energetic Eileen, who is bestowed a cyan wardrobe by Irene.
