Basic Trope: A feminine girl or woman.

  • Straight: Alice loves clothes and makeup, takes interest in cooking and sewing, and dreams of being a mother.
  • Exaggerated: Alice shuns anything unfeminine, so much as wearing trousers, eating meat, burping, or owning any clothes that aren't pink. She's also a princess.
  • Downplayed: Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak
  • Justified: Alice just has an affinity for "girly" things.
  • Inverted: Tomboy
  • Gender Inverted: Manly Man
  • Subverted: Alice is a Tomboy with a Girly Streak.
  • Double Subverted: Alice is ashamed of her tomboy side and goes to great pains to hide it.
  • Parodied: Alice practices Fainting and freaking out over mice just so she'll be as feminine as possible.
  • Zig Zagged: Alice's interests alternate between "girly" and "boyish".
  • Averted:
    • Alice is no more girly than the average girl.
    • Alternatively, Alice has a gender-neutral personality.
  • Enforced: The author wanted to show girls that it's okay to be "girly."
  • Lampshaded: "Alice, you would be right at home in Regency England."
  • Invoked: Alice is living in a setting with strict gender roles. She acts as "girly" as possible so she'll be accepted by society.
  • Exploited: Tomboy Max comes to Alice when she needs help dressing up for a fancy party.
  • Defied: Alice refuses to have "girly" interests.
  • Discussed: Alice and Max argue over whether it's true that Real Women Don't Wear Dresses.
  • Conversed: While watching an old sitcom from The '50s, Bob and Alice debate whether the heroine is so feminine because she wants to be or because she felt pressured by society.
  • Implied: Alice dresses more frilly than the other female characters, but her personality is never quite established.
  • Deconstructed: Alice's behavior reinforces the idea that all women want to be pretty and submissive.
  • Reconstructed: Alice makes it clear that just because she enjoys being feminine, it doesn't mean all women will feel the same way.
  • Played For Laughs: Alice wears a Pimped-Out Dress at all times, even when it's wildly impractical. Hilarity Ensues.
  • Played For Drama: Alice's traditional charms enable her to win over Prince Charming.
