Basic Trope: A deliberately obnoxious, self-important kid who goes out of their way to get on everybody's nerves.
- Straight: Rebecca is an incredibly annoying, disrespectful, demanding 6-year-old brat with a Motor Mouth who likes nothing more than playing mean pranks and jeering at the adults around her.
- Exaggerated: Rebecca does all she can to ruin each and every plan her elders make, kicks anyone who calls her out in the shins, yells whenever she doesn't get her way and is a complete and utter Attention Whore.
- Downplayed: Mouthy Kid
- Justified: Rebecca's attitude problems are a result of her parents being neglectful and not raising her right.
- Inverted: Rebecca is a helpful and good-hearted Cheerful Child
- Subverted:
- Rebecca may appear like an obnoxious brat at first but it turns out she only acts this way because no one pays attention to her otherwise.
- Rebecca only acts this way around the villains, not around the heroes.
- Double Subverted: ... but she does get kicks from being a little bitch.
- Parodied: Rebecca is a TV-Y7 rip-off of Omar Little.
- Zig Zagged: Rebecca is generally shown to be rude, spiteful, and a pathological liar. However she is also very loving of her little brother Samuel and protects him from bullies, beating the tar out of a particularly egregious one. It turns out she's encouraging Samuel to act out like she does, but the story shows Samuel to be too meek and suggests that learning from his sister might not be the worst thing.
- Averted: Children in the show are all Tagalong Kids.
- Enforced:
- The writer is a Child Hater.
- The writer wants to show that not all children are kind and sweet-natured.
- Lampshaded: "Rebecca, drop the attitude or I assure you that you won't like what's gonna happen!"
- Implied: The audience only see Rebecca when she's an adult, but in a conversation her father, Bob reveals that Rebecca drove him to the end of his patience, to the point that he had no compunctions putting her through military school since she wouldn't stop destroying her siblings' schoolwork and almost set the house on fire once, just so people would talk about her.
- Invoked:"What the... REBECCA!!! Are you the one who put that dog turd in the water jug?""YES! Serves you all right!! Neener, neener!!"
- Exploited: The villain approaches Rebecca and bribes her with sweets so as to have her ruin the heroes' plans.
- Defied: "Rebecca, just so we're clear, this is no laughing matter. If you ever do anything to ruin our plans, you'll get what's coming to you."
- Discussed: "She's no asking for a pair of slaps, she's begging for them."
- Conversed: "Why must kids always be portrayed as obstacles in action movies?"
- Deconstructed: Rebecca's attitude causes her grades to slip in school. Her parents have given up on her, as have most of the teachers, and it's likely she'll keep getting in trouble into adulthood.
- Reconstructed: One of her teachers, Mr. Sturgeon, takes it upon himself to straiten Rebecca out. By applying tough love, and by redirecting Rebecca's energy to more constructive interests, he succeeds in improving her behavior and her standing among her peers. He also shames her parents into being more involved in her life.
- Played For Laughs: Rebecca's antics are a source of Black Comedy and make her a fan favorite.
- Played For Drama:
- Rebecca is lashing out at others because her father beats her.
- Rebecca throws a tantrum at her mother for being grounded over a prank. During the tantrum, Rebecca shouts that she hates her mother. Her mother Alice went out to buy groceries for dinner, and when robbers tried holding up the store they murdered her in cold blood. The tantrum was the last thing Rebecca ever said to her mother.
- Rebecca gets the shit literally kicked out of her because her antics pissed off someone a bit too much. Her parents will pay the bastard back, of course, but they can't say they can't understand why it happened.
- Played For Horror:
- Rebecca is a bratty Enfante Terrible. She doesn't just kicks shins — she shatters them.
- Rebecca is killed in cold blood by someone who got a bit too pissed off at Rebecca. For extra scary, the person may have warned Rebecca that her death would result if she kept being a brat, and Rebecca didn't get the hint, thinking that there was no way someone was actually going to do that to a little girl.
Teaching a Bratty Half-Pint not to give attitude? That's cute.
