Basic Trope: An Eldritch Abomination that looks like something a child could hug.
- Straight: Li'lyia is an Eldritch Abomination whose true form resembles a Chibified version of a Humanoid Abomination and she generally speaks like a toddler.
- Exaggerated: Li'lyia is an incomprehensible entity that was born during the Precambrian Era and her form causes everyone around her to go insane from Cuteness Overload.
- Downplayed:
- Li'lyia is a Sealed Evil in a Teddy Bear who wants to escape the plush animal she inhabits.
- Cute Monster Girl
- Justified:
- Li'lyia is in the larval/infant form of her species and is very small in contrast to the adults of her species.
- She is the Token Mini-Moe of the Eldritch Pantheon.
- Inverted: Lily is a normal human child who found herself in an alien world. The natives of the planet had never seen humans before and ''think'' she is a incomprehensible alien. Aka, she is an out of place "abomination" by comparison. Many misunderstandings ensue.
- Subverted: Li'lyia is vaguely portrayed as an eldritch god. However, when we meet her, she is actually just a Creepy Child.
- Double Subverted: ...Until she reveals that she crash landed on Earth on her now 65 million year old spaceship which was mistaken by scientists as the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs.
- Parodied:
- Li'lyia often has My God, What Have I Done? moments about how her school classmates freak out from her Eldritch Abomination appearance.
- Li'lyia drives others into insanity because she is so cute.
- Averted:
- Lily is just a normal kid.
- Alternatively, Li'lyia is portrayed as a normal Eldritch Abomination, i.e. normal by eldritch god standards.
- Enforced: "We need a Kid-Appeal Character in this adventure of eldritch lore. They must also be a Token Heroic Eldritch monster to show that Rousseau Was Right."
- Lampshaded: "So you're telling me that little girl is actually an incomprehensible alien!?"
- Invoked: Li'lyia decides to have a Coming-Out Story and it revolves around her showing her true origins and form, the humans accepting her for who she is, which leads to An Aesop about not judging a book by its cover, or a eldritch goddess from her true form in this case.
- Exploited: Li'lyia decides to prank her classmates by turning into her true form and scaring them.
- Implied: Li'lyia looks like a 7-year old child, but she says that she's actually dressing up as A Form You Are Comfortable With.
- Played For Laughs: Jerk Jock Draco decides to target Li'lyia as his next victim. He proceeds to ambush her in one of the school hallways, but is unaware that she is actually an eldritch monster. She hasn't eaten lunch yet and she leaves the hallway patting her now swollen stomach, thanking Draco for the free meal.
- Played For Horror:
- Li'lyia hugs someone, but all life that is hugged by her will be forcefully transformed into Ridiculously Cute Critters which will want to hug any non-infected around said critters, which turns turns them also, until she turns the entire planet into a twisted Sugar Bowl.
- Imagine being a human fighting an evil Toon. You can shoot them, smash them, nuke them, and most likely they will result in Invisible Holes, Squashed Flat, and Sweeping Ashes (or if you are unlucky, just an Ash Face). Meanwhile, the harm they inflict on the world and you are very real and permanent. In short, you are fighting a Nigh-Invulnerable opponent who at best can be slowed down, while you remain as vulnerable as normal human. Pray they have a weakness you can exploit, or you're SOL.
Back to Adorable Abomination. Do not be deceived by its cuteness.
