  • The cornerhounds, vicious Outsiders which are known to abduct people and drag them back to their home realm, and no one knows what happens then. Oh, and they can emerge from any right angle, so good luck finding a hiding spot.
  • When Ebenezer finds out that Thomas is his grandson, his immediate reaction is to call power to blow up the boat Thomas (and multiple innocents and other parties), are on. He hates the White Court so much that he would rather kill his daughter's son than live with having a White Court vampire for a grandson.
    • And unbeknownst to him, Harry is also on the boat, talking to (and dueling) Ebenezer through a proxy. If Ebenezer had completed that strike, he would have killed both his grandchildren.
    • From Eb's perspective, the idea that his grandson and great-granddaughter are under the thrall of the White Court—especially given what Lara did to Madeleine, Thomas very nearly did to Molly, and Lord Raith did to Maggie Sr—is understandably terrifying in itself.
  • Ethniu, the Last Titan.
    • She introduces herself casually ordering the slaughter of every servant and caterer simply because they didn't belong to any supernatural nation, stomps on Mab's Berserk Buttons and actually makes the Winter Queen lose her cool, then drop-kicks Mab through multiple walls, absolutely shattering Mab's form.
    • She then announces her intent to tear down The Masquerade, starting the all-out war between humanity and the supernatural that every faction has feared and worked to prevent since the beginning of the series.
    • As a capstone, she unleashes a hex that blows out every electronic system in Chicago. Hundreds died instantly from car crashes and other power failures, and no matter how the battle goes there will be thousands of deaths in the coming days, from starvation and rioting and everything else.
    • She also carries the Eye of Balor, a reusable Fantastic Nuke that can single-handedly be used to level cities and crush armies.
  • How the svartalves incapacitated Thomas. While they didn't kill him, they beat him so badly the Hunger was forced to cannibalize Thomas' life energy in an attempt to heal, slowly killing him. There's not much left of Thomas by the time Harry manages to rescue him.
  • How Demonreach seals someone into its cells. Inmates are forced to experience how they wronged others so they understand why they're being locked up. Even a lighter sentence like Thomas's, made to save him, requires Thomas to go through this process and he's rendered screaming.
  • When Harry summons Molly, she is unable to leave the summoning circle until he breaks it, and warns him that she will be compelled to demand proportional repayment for the favor he asks of her. Such a circle and such a debt would have no power over a human, but Molly is now... something other than human.
