- Divided for Publication: What became Peace Talks was split into two books, released two months apart. The second part of the duology is Battle Ground (2020).
- Missing Trailer Scene: One scene in the trailer depicts Harry and Marcone both getting dressed in the same room, with Marcone subtly threatening Harry not to interfere with his Peace Conference. In the book proper, not only does this conversation never happen, Harry and Marcone never even directly interact in any form.
- The scene is repurposed in the sequel, only it takes place after the peace conference and both men are using Marcone's castle's locker room to change into their respective battle attires for the war to come.
